Crash Course is very helpful and reinforces key concepts repeatedly throughout the text. Definitely how I ended up with an 800.
The old version for AMSCO works just fine if you’re using it just for content review.
790 woot! I used AMSCO and took APUSH this year. Probably could’ve pulled 800 if I actually read through the entire AMSCO though lol. I also crammed the Sparknotes online review guide for history, so I definitely recommend that.
780 used AMSCO and did no studying for the sat 2 besides 1 practice test. I used AMSCO for the AP and I probably read through the book 15 times lol
I got a 770. All I did to study was take the APUSH course this past year and read Sparknotes the night before. Not too bad.
- Not bad considering no AP US history course at my school (only had an honors course). I read the entire Larry Krieger Insider AP US history Guide the 1.5 weeks before. And did 3 practice tests.
Thought the test was sooo easy, i finished with like 10 minutes remaining. I made a couple clutch mistakes (changed my answer for the WW1 question at the last second to sinking of lusitania, misread the party against popular soverignty one, anti suffrage one. RICE for SC!! garrrrhhh), and there were a couple i had no idea (iroquios vs sioux - never studied that stuff lol, moral majority -?, LBJ city programs, stephen crane?!)
So I kinda wanted that 780-800 but whatever, i got above the 750 mark and that was my goal. Not a huge history guy anyway.
I got a 780 a month after last reviewing anything to do with US history (I didn’t give US history a second thought after walking out of the APUSH exam). Idk what this AMSCO thing everyone’s mentioning is, but I did fine without it. As long as you have a solid background of knowledge in US history you should do fine on the test without special preparation
