720, expected. My other two subject tests are 800 and 790. Im just gonna move on, these things aren’t even that important
@prospective1998 yes, it’s a great score. I felt really good about the test but I have no clue what the curve is like. Mainly I had trouble with some of the questions on individuals, so I’m gonna say that those were the ones I missed.
790!! yeeeeeeeeeee
Is it worth retaking?
780 LOL!! I was straight up expecting like a 750 because I got that on my previous practice tests. So happy rn.
Can everyone tell me how they studied and got a 700 and higher please??? I’m a Sophomore and I got my World History scores and I scored a 580…and I don’t know if I should retake it or focus on scoring really well in U.S. History starting now. Please please tell me I desperately need help. I kinda just threw my college chances out the door now.
^No need to get hysterical. As long as you can do well on 2 SAT Subject Tests next year, you’ll be fine.
For anybody that got 750+, what books and resources did you use??!! Thanks ahead of time.
@MrAustere I studied rigorously for APUSH (Barron’s, REA Crash Course, AMSCO) but because SAT was only two weeks after the AP exam I just used REA Crash Course (which can be done in like a couple hours) and online tests.
@TheAtlantic I used Barron’s and did not like the format. I only got a 700, my goal is a 750. Do you think AMSCO would be sufficient?
@MrAustere yes I think it would. A lot of people say AMSCO is the best
@TheAtlantic It is over 700 pages though! I read REA and found it too short and concise. I already used Barron’s practice tests. Who has the next best?
@MrAustere, AMSCO is a little dry, but it’s a very good summary if you’re willing to spend your free time reading the entire thing.
@MrAustere i got a 790 and would reccomend watching videos from adam norris for the old AP exam which was quite similar to the sat2. I found that his final review videos help alot. Also AMSCO is quite helpful.
@MrAustere I got a 790 - I used Barron’s, Kaplan’s, and Larry Krieger’s The Inside Complete Guide to AP US History. I actually didn’t take an AP class or the exam but the book actually reallyyyyyyy helps for the SAT Subject Test. I’m not the biggest fan of Kaplan, because of their practice tests, but it did summarize everything very well after the thick, detailed Barron’s
@Prospective1998 @cooldude1098 I cannot find a cheap copy of AMSCO. Is Kriegers or REA good? I already took the test using Barron’s, so what has the second best practice tests?
@TheAtlantic Does it matter if I use the 2010 or 2015 editions!
Does anyone know if using the 2010 or 2015 edition of AMSCO matters?
@MrAustere They’re essentially the same, if I recall correctly. The 2015 edition’s questions are more tailored for the new format of the AP exam.
Aaaand 730. Yeesh. Serves me right for hoping I’d retain everything from the AP without a quick refresher. Oh, well. Will retake in October!
I used an old version @MrAustere
