I said Iroquois had permanent societies while Sioux were nomads who followed the buffalo herd and only had temporary settlements
Yeah I put Pennsylvania
Trusts and monopolies (Great Migration for African Am. was early 20th)
I said economic gain but that was one of my guesses
I also said Iroquois was permanent
I also put they were levying taxes just to make revenue
Did you say the settlement homes allowed women to get experience with social something?
I tried googling the rice/tobacco/cotton exports for S. Carolina but everything comes up with all 3…
^ same (levying taxes)
@WK6897 Was that the one with the quote about the colonial taxes?
was there a great migration chart (graph(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_South_Carolina#Rice Okay this says rice was pretty big in the Carolinas, but doesnt mention anything about top export, and it’s wikipedia
Settlement houses offered cheap housing for the poor, I think.
What was the answer to the Sugar Act question? And the one that asked what would have been one of Hamilton’s policies?
For the Hamilton one, I put lowering taxes to stimulate the economy.
Hamilton encouraged investment in manufacturing. Look up his “Report on Manufactures”
I’m pretty sure the AFL vs KoL one economic. KoL took a very progressive stance in the early 20th century and wanted social reform like women’s suffrage and child labor laws. AFL took a more political stance asking for workers benefits, shorter weeks, etc.
@allista hamilton wanted a high tariff, the answer was proposed subsidy to business
was there a draft riots question?
Hamilton’s answer is investing in companies. I dont think he lowered taxes.
I cant remember the sugar act choices, but I could answer if I did.
Yeah marsha that was the New York question.
Yeah it’s rice. The order was rice --> tobacco --> cotton
@marsha.ss Yeah, it was the Irish immigrant and draft thing for what happened in 1863
Was there one about what 2 authors wrote about in late 19th century? I said something about the harsh realities of the poor or something like that.
