@BenjoFilm the status page is back up! no update here, still fall grades.

@dream thanks! And yeah, no update here, either…

I got into Chapman and LMU. Also got into CSN and CSLB. Waiting for UCLA and USC. Went to Film Camp at UCLA. My mom went to UCLA in the dark ages and would love for me to go there. HATES USC because of the football rivalry! Problem with UCLA is that they only accept 15 undergrads who are current students at UCLA in film department and you don’t find out until your Jr. year. They accept 15 from outside. Same for Cal State programs. You are not admitted to film until your Jr. year. What is nice about USC is even thought you don’t start heavy film stuff until Jr. year, you are at least in the department. LMU is great campus, but don’t think their film department is on par yet with UCLA, Chapman and USC. LMU and Chap put camera in your hand as a freshman.

dream: I just heard that NYU is 60K/yr OH MY!!! In this economy, that is outrageous. And, I have heard that Tish is not a student-friendly environment.

@nw–LMU better campus but Chapman prob has better film/tv reputation.

@nwfilmstudent - well it’s not THAT much but it is up there. I’d say it’s about the same cost as USC… but NYU’s financial aid is terrible, which is my concern.

Qu: I agree. LMU has best real estate of all these schools and 5 min. from beach!!! I liked how everyone at LMU seems friendly-A friend from my LAX team last year says that the girls at LMU (He is in the Communications Department) are “stuck-up” but otherwise loves the schoo. Chap gave me twice as much $$ as LMU, which is a big factor in my choice. I know USC will be very expensive and I will unlike get $ from them. I am grateful that I have choices 2 and 3 at this point. I am not feeling very hopeful about being a Trojan…

Dream: Ya, I agree about Finaid at NYU, which is why I didn’t bother applying. My sis lives in Manhattan, so I would have been able to live with her, but still way over the top. I think USC is about 10K less than NYU. USC has a lot of money, but not sure how they dole it out. I did not get an invite to be one of the 1000 lucky ones invited to be a Trustee et all scholar :)

@nwfilmstudent - Well, USC meets 100% of their determined need while NYU only meets ~75%… and my EFC is less than $1000 so cost is HUGE for me.

@nw–I don’t think anyone is feeling hopeful about being a SCA trojan unless a presidential or trustee scholar. But, we all tried our best, that’s all we can do. We will all have choices!!!

Did anyone else see this on Kimmel after the Oscars?

I didn’t think it was possible for me to love Christoph Waltz more than I already do but…

[YouTube - Christoph Waltz on His Role in Der Humpink](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUbGcRJUDu0)

Shicko: Internationl? From where? How long have you lived there?

haha dream… i guess i missed that part. i tuned in for a bit after the oscars and saw the handsome mens club skit but i had to wake up early for class and went to sleep right after that. hes definitely awesome already and i think christoph will continue to surprise us.

in general, from what i hear from 2 friends currently at NYU, tisch seems to be a “collection” of independent artists rather and a “community” of filmmakers as it seems to be at USC. but this is just from various comments about tisch that have come up in conversations with them.

nwfilmstudent,
Please check out posts by madbean. Her son is in SCA and she has written about his classes and many interesting and unique experiences he has had in the film school. I think it is a misconception that a freshmen is not involved with filmaking in SCA.

@BenjoFilm - jazz/shreddermom just posted that her son’s status changed to forwarded during the downtime.

@swatdojo - You didn’t miss much. Just Robert Downey Jr. sitting around and being good looking and Christoph Waltz’s video. :p

I still havent heard back yet…

@MattLeinartFan - what program(s) did you apply to?

@Shicko

Where ya from bro?

Call me superstitious but I’d rather not divulge my background too much till admission come through :). Although I will say I’m Mediterranean and living in Asia. So the number of us applying to Production would probably be around 1 or 2 haha.

@.Shicko…have you lived in Asia long? I would say that since they took the time to call you in Asia then you must look pretty good to them! Are you American of Mediterranean descent?
