OFFICIAL School of Cinematic Arts 2014 Applicants/Results

I got the forwarded status today!

Yay! I don’t even know what it means, but change is nice. XD

So now losthestory, littlered3, you, and myself are forwarded? Anyone else?

I’m curious. what did it change from?

Mine went being reviewed > preliminary > fall grades for a month > forwarded.

Same as dream, here

yep.
mine changed to fwd todayy

has anyone heard even about being accepted to the regular university yet?? or are we all waiting on that one too

@shicko mine has always been “being reviewed”---- now it’s forwarded.

We’re all waiting for USC acceptance too. I don’t think any of us will know for another two weeks. :/

Ok. I have no changes. Can you send me the link where u ck

https://camel2.usc.edu/AdmOnlineApplication/</a> - I use Firefox so this is where I usually check.

[" + loginpagetitle + "](http://usconnect.usc.edu/) - If I need USConnect, I use Internet Explorer. Log in, go to Admission, and click the Undergraduate Application box.

Ya, It won’t work for me using Firefox. I will try this one. Again, thxs

OK. I called admissions and talked with a telephone answering questions person:) She said that my app was completed and “being reviewed” and EVERYONE will know by April 1st (standard line). She denied that those being accepted get their letters or packets first. And, yes, SCA takes longer…And yes, they sent out letters last week, but because SCA takes longer… She said to “ignore” what is on the USC website (as mine has not changed). That they have “everthing.” She also wanted me to know that the applications are all online and no paper file is passed around, that lots of people can look at it etc. I didn’t have the guts to ask her what was written about me LOLOL

I decided to check facebook to see if SCA has accepted anyone yet.

This group has 5 members but all 5 of them were members when I found the group a few months ago so I think they’re hopefuls.

Same with the members of this group.

And here’s last year’s SCA thread, in case anyone is interested.

It seems like the first acceptances were part of the wave that everyone predicts will be out this Friday. If you read it, keep in mind the info about status updates doesn’t really apply this year because there was no “forwarded” status last year.

“Applications are all online”? That would assume that either we submitted our supplemental material online, which the majority of undergraduates did not (grads do submit online I believe), that USC scanned all our files and put them on line (that would be a tall order–you do the math), multiple xerox copies were made and are in committee members hand (also a tall order) or that our supplemental materials via paper file are being passed around from committee member to committee member. Regardless, it’s going to take awhile. For those of us who put Production as #1 choice and CS as #2 choice, I wonder if that decreases our chances of getting accepted into USC as undecided, because of time constraints. Always wondered this and never quite got a straight answer. Can madbean or mel help me out with this question.

USC scans all of the files and uploads them into an online file. That’s how they get passed around. I asked madbean this summer and she said that even if you put those two as your choices, you can still get admitted to CLAS undeclared.

nwfilm and Dream- thanks so much for sharing that information, hopefully that will relieve a little stress for CSA applicants.
Nwfilm- when the person said, “yes they mailed letters last week”, was she referring to general USC letters or the film school?

@dream, thank you. Can I nominate you as class president!!! Wow that is a ton of work to scan all the files!!! I’m impressed! Oh I know you can get admitted to CLAS undeclared but was just wondering if process is slowed because your first two choices are in the SCA which we all know takes longer to decide! Or maybe committee deciding CLAS undecided is independently looking at all applicants, in addition to those applicants who have been accepted to specialty colleges?

@waitinginca - I think she meant that they started mailing general USC letters last week.

@quwayo - :)

From what I gather, the two schools work separately. So CLAS decides if they’re going to admit you as undeclared and SCA decides if they’re going to admit you period. If CLAS says yes, then they’ll send you your letter regardless of whether SCA has decided yet or not. Then when SCA says yes, they’ll send you a letter saying that you’ve also been accepted by them. However, CLAS has to approve all decisions so SCA can’t tell you before CLAS. I think that explains why some people get their SCA decision at the same time as their USC acceptance while others get into CLAS first and have to wait for SCA.

By the way, in case anyone is wondering, I actually don’t have a life.

I’ve been home sick with the flu for a week which is why I’ve become a CC hermit/SCA researcher of sorts.
