Everyone is accepted to their first choice unless otherwise noted.

1991will…looks like from reading the post #1201 with all the status changes and acceptances that two people were accepted to USC before knowing about SCA decision. Both in production…pipesnake got in to USC on 3/12 and letter of rejection to SCA on 3/16. Anonymityftw got in 1/? (so looks like the scholarship wave) and is waiting to hear from SCA but got changed to “acted on” today.
When did you get in to USC and what is your status today?

Hey guys… my mom just got the mail. There was a HUGE white envelope in it… I screamed. Then she said “sorry, it’s NYU.” They had already emailed me a week ago, though. I opened it hoping maybe they gave me a decent financial aid package… $27,313 in Direct PLUS loans. Guess I can’t go to Tisch.

Dream, I spent three hours in the bookstore last Friday reading everything I could about Financial Aid. The most important thing is to go back to them and ask them to redo your package. Tell them that is not even possible for you. Everything I read said it was critical to go back an renegotiate.

Gotta go to my next class…no computer access for a while. See ya.

hahah @alamemom, I’m quite aware. , I was just stating that I am envious that you guys have mail service on saturdays.

NO DHL FOR ME:(

although I did just get my acceptance to University of the Arts London. That’s 3 i’ve heard back from so far. bahh and I’m pretty sure its a rejection from usc. gotta come to terms

@mitch - even if you get rejected from SCA, you got into Ryerson… so you won’t be up to your eyeballs in international loans if you decide to go there.

yes, this is very true. and I can always apply as a transfer. I set a goal to go to usc I’m just the type of person who won’t be happy until I accomplish it. it will kill me inside until I do.

@dream is right.
But any one of us who goes to SC will probably be into our eyeballs in loans, period.
But you have to spend money to make money.

Mitchster My daughter was accepted a University of the Arts London. She loves the idea of going to London and I don’t mind that but I was concerned that it was too much of a trade school. No liberal arts. What do you think?

I was admitted mid-March to SCA (Production) and my online app status was just updated to:

The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you have not received our written notification, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

congrats on University of Arts London- they are very selective and she must have a great portfolio! I just got off the phone with my best friends mom (from the uk) asking advice on schools etc.

What school did she get into at UAL (Central St Martins, London College of Communication etc…)

From what I have been told is that UAL has an OUTSTANDING reputation and alumni–especially for art. Since they have been around so long they really have a great reputation. As far as I know their BA (HONS) does focus a lot on artistic work but there is academics involved as well. You’re just focused on what you’re there to do. From my knowledge getting a BA (Hons) degree in 3 years anywhere in the UK hold the same status as getting one in a 4-year program in Canada or the US.

The course work however is heavier than spreading it out over 4-years.

Mitchster I didn’t know they were that selective. That’s interesting. She applied to the film program or whatever they call it there. It’s very heavy on production like USC but no liberal arts. Kind of limiting, I think. You are giving me a different impression…I had spoken to people in the film business (one of them from England) and nobody had heard of the school. Thank you.
