I remember choosing an answer choice about “blueprint for the imagination” too. The exact phrase in the answer choice was in the passage.

Wasn’t it about her grandfather? She said early in the passage (like the second paragraph), something like “Like my grandfather, Hinano was from the island of Ri’awaea.” The correct answer was that they were both from the same island.

It was clearly to use imagination to escape reality. He repeats over and over that he wants people to exercise their imaginations to overcome a difficulty, yes a reality. I don’t get how much more simple it can get. People who answered “for the greater good” are trying to somehow imagine words that weren’t in the passage. People this is the ACT ! Quite an obvious answer IMO

Yes, but where in the passage did it say anything about escaping reality? The idea in the passage seemed to be that imagination be used to further and better reality, not escape from it. One of the answers was blueprint to the imagination, but that was a different question. “good I have to offer” doesn’t equal greater good, but in addition to that he talked a lot about how his writing be used to benefit society, and how he enjoyed writing, which is why I picked the other one.

greater good had more evidence within the passage, imo.
I see where you guys are coming from with the “imagination” part but the “escape reality” part of the answer choice makes it wrong. both parts of the answer choice have to be supported for an answer to be right.

Yeah, I eliminated the imagination choice because of the escaping reality/problems of life part. When he says he wants to help people “overcome difficulty,” I think that goes along with contributing to the greater good.

“I believe in the power of the human imagination to triumph over all these issues (the global bad issues), like the two-hundred-some-year failure of the United States to realize the dream of a Jeffersonian republic.” - I went for the imagination choice

For those of you that finished with lots of extra time…

How did you guys save so much time? Could you please tell me your strategies? Like if you did certain passages first or if you skim the passage or actually read the whole thing before answering the questions, etc.

@FullMetalx do you mean 4 min reading time and 4 min answering questions? If I do 4 min reading and 3 min answer for each passage then i am left with 7 min still
