To any juniors out there who have already registered: during registration, did you opt to send your ACT score to colleges/universities? My understanding during registration was that I can register before the test date to send my score to 4 places for free, but I wouldn’t be able to see the score before it was sent. The only disadvantage of not sending the the scores before I see them is financial - I believe it’s about $15 to send a score report after you take the test. Although I am pretty sure of 4 places I want to apply, I figured I still have another year until it’s mandatory to report the scores - if I bomb this ACT (which will hopefully not happen) I’ll just report a different one. Also, if I sent the scores now, wouldn’t they somehow get lost in the computer, since I still have another year before the adcomms are looking at my application? XD
Thoughts, anyone?

Just signed up for September ACT…AAGGHHH!!!

Hi @piarobvio I am also a rising junior too, and have the same questions as you^^. I think I will take many ACT practice tests, and if my scores are consistent, then I will use the 4 free score reports, and hope that my scores don’t get lost in the computer.

I’m a rising junior too. On my last act i got a 30C: 30E, 30M, 30R, 31S, but i’m shootin for a 33+

hey guys!! I was wondering if anyone managed to find answer explanations for practice ACT tests? Like the real ones given to us for free every year? They give us the answers, but I really would like some explanations for the reading passages? thanks!! (I’m taking it for the first time in september)

i posted this in the other september 2014 thread, but this one was the official one and i didn’t see it before!

@nervousfreshie I don’t know if this will help, but this site gives answer explanations for some of the tests: http://www.answerexplanations.com/act/

@An1100345 Thats the site that wants you to pay lol D: I used it for a couple of tests, but after that, I couldn’t access more explanations?

also, has anyone ever jumped from a 30 to 33+? I have taken 3 tests and am averaging around 30-30.5. I would love at least a 33…

For top colleges…is there a big difference between 33-36?

@nervousfreshie ACT Quantum has videos that explain each math question.

@tola2015 I have already found him! I’m just looking for websites that can give explanations for English + Science + reading

bump to keep this alive

Junior taking ACT in Sept.

^seniors too!

senior first time taking, actually pretty nervous

@DaneBrick don’t be I took it for the first time in April and walked out feeling like I bombed it (I didn’t bother to study) and got a <29 or something. Everyone was saying what scores they received, so I checked mine and found out I got a 32. I’m retaking it because I did get a 29 on English. It’s much easier than the SAT because for the reading and science section all you have to do is be able to comb through a reading passage to find an answer.

Do any of you guys have any tips for getting to a 30 from a 26? I’m trying to get by 30 before the September exam date, do you think it’s possible?

Any tips for scoring a perfect 36?

^ 36th post, very fitting

I feel the ACT is more on luck. because sometimes while taking practice exams I get like a 27 on math, and other times I get a 30. So I just hope that the ACT wouldn’t be hard and straightforward. Do you guys think the ACT will be harder than the practice exams. ( I did Kaplan and Princeton review)

@APmaster007 Really? I feel that the SAT is more on luck. Also I’m using the red book for act practice tests so they should be similar to the real thing.
