^ I think it is more on luck because the difference between, lets say, a 30 and 27, is like 3 questions. And getting a 30 or 27 is a lot of difference. That is like a 2000 to 1800 on the SAT.

And ACT Quantum has only math questions. IS there a similar sites for reading, science, and things like that?

Through my researches, I found out that answerexplanations.com is the only web source that is offering full-detailed answer explanations on each section. Unfortunately, you have to pay 80 bucks for full access or 50 bucks for one test and some additional content.

Well anyways, the writing first part seems to be really easy and I could finish it on time. However the other sections I cant seem to be able to finish on time. Like the math questions I start of good, but after like questions 45 or something they start getting a little harder and I need more time then the previous questions and I only get to like 55 till time runs out. Same thing with the science, it seems like time runs out and I still cant complete the last passage on time. What should I do??? Because I really don’t want to skip any questions.

Can anyone confirm if on the essay, we are allowed to make up quotes, statistics, etc. also, are we allowed to make up names of agencies and organizations and surveys? The internet says yes, but my English teacher says no, you’ll get in trouble

I’m frustrated because I can’t seem to get out of 31-32 practice test score range, and 33 was the best I got. I took the same exams 2 weeks apart, and got 34-35. Anyone can interpret this pattern? I took 8 practice exams twice.

S is a junior and is taking the test for the first time Saturday. He has done some test prep (with strong encouragment and bribing from his father! ) and is hosting a party w/ several buddies to celebrate that evening. His practice scores are decent EXCEPT for math. Interestingly, he has taken HONORS classes in math since freshman year and seems to have more trouble with that area? If he gets above a 30 composite he will likely not retake the ACT. Other students are taking the ACT and/or the SAT multiple times? Does anyone think the effort and expense is worth it? I know of one poor boy who just learned DUKE wants to see all his scores, not just the 33, but the 28 and 29 too? Yikes!

We are also attending our first college fair Sunday in Cincinnati sponsored by NACAC to get started on the admissions process so as not to be overwhelmed next Fall. We hope as a family that S applies to 6 or 7 schools, including 2 reaches, 2 or 3 likely admits and 2 or 3 safeties.

to BarristerDad118 ~ this is a little late for Saturday’s test, but if you are looking for help in the future, I am a test prep & math tutor in the north Cincinnati area. Often times, one-on-one focused guidance can make a big difference. I’d definitely recommend that your student take the ACT again after focusing on his areas of weakness.

Guys, DONT make a google doc until the day of the test. If the google doc is posted before the test date, the college confidential administrator will delete the post and possibly this discussion

I have to take it again to get a writing score. Hope I can get a 34 this time, though. It sucks so much that I get 35s on practice tests, but have such bad test anxiety, that I just don’t have confidence in myself in reproducing those results on the big day.

I am ready for the test. Hoping to get a 30 or higher. If I finish a section before, can I go back to other sections if the teacher doesn’t see me? Because I think I could finish the essay like 5 minutes before? what do you guys think?

Don’t they collect the answer sheet before starting the essay? Even if they don’t, it’s not right. Don’t do it - if you’re caught, you will be kicked out.
