Official Stanford "Early Approval" Letter Thread

Believe it. Stanford generally doesn't need to send out tons (look at its yield as it is). Plus, Stanford Yale, and Harvard want to follow the same model of about 100-120 students, which isn't surprising.

so of the people here who have gotten this letter, how many have received their financial aid info?

^I've received my financial aid info (in fact, with my letter)

Just so people don't get confused, I believe that what gblob got was the same thing as me, which is a financial aid estimate. It came with the 08-09 financial aid handbook and was a single page with an expected parent and expected student contribution. It said that they will send the official financial aid package soon after the acceptance letter come april. (sorry if I'm wrong gblob)

I didn't even get that. This is why i'm concerned.
When i got my letter, all i got was that one sheet in a small envelope.

@Marcusb: you're right, sorry guys

SCEA acceptees also received a financial aid "estimate".

Has anyone recieved anything else from Stanford following the early approval letters (ie. e-mails, additional letters, anything)? All I got was that one package. I feel like they would try to advertise the school more to those who got the letters.

yeah, I received this undergraduate research journal thing + a letter talking about stanford's undergraduate research program and how admit weekend is a good time to find out more about it.

@failsauce

i got the SURJ (Stanford Undergraduate Research Journal) and the research letter too, but i never received any form of financial aid estimate. I'm concerned because it seems like everyone else received at least a little bit of financial aid info with their early approval letter.

they only got the finaid stuff because they had it done before they sent out the likely letters. otherwise you gotta wait until they actually accept you (i didn't get any fin aid estimate either).

So is anyone else telling people about this letter? I told my friends but now I'm getting nervous because it isnt official yet...

I shouted it all over facebook, and i told all my teachers. Everyone in my school was stupefied because no one ever gets into any good schools from my town.

Its official. They're not cruel.

They are ... to most of us. :(

so now that everyone got accepted (WOOOHOOOO!) Is anyone deciding not to go to Stanford?

Sadly, I am going to have to decline my admission. :(

^How dare you! :mad:

mvz315: WHY?? :)

to ngolsh314: how did you show the stanford admissions officers that you built a hologram, a 7 foot tall siege, and that other thing?
