i mean they have to let some people in right?
im just not a very special person so i feel my chances are low…

Glad to see someone’s started one of these! I’ve been a CC creeper for about a year now but when I saw this thread pop up I broke down and made an account. :’)

I’m applying SCEA to Stanford. I visited there last spring break and fell even more in love with the school than I already was! I’m also taking the October SAT. I took it last spring but I’m hoping to boost my score substantially. I’ve done almost all of the Common App except the EC essay and I still need one teacher recommendation. The supplement essays are troubling me, though. I have a ton of things I want to write about but I can’t seem to figure out how to fit those topics to any of the prompts… So I only have the roommate essay done so far.

The What Matters essay scares me because it’s so vague!

I’m applying REA too! I’m giving my SAT Subjects next weekend, but the rest of my profile is pretty much done. Here’s my profile:

Good luck to all!

Hey guys, I’m from Arizona and I’m applying early! I agree, this is the most terrifying thing ever…to think that in a little over two months, we’ll know…yikes!!! This, like all of you, is my dream school, so my parents are taking me to visit the campus next week! I am sure you’re all BRILLIANT and you’ll do great on the essays, no worries :)

I studied psychology at Stanford for three weeks two years ago. Will that help me? I also visited last summer. I live in North Carolina though so it wasnt like I could go often at all haha I’m kind of obsessed with it and I’m gonna be so incredibly sad when I get rejected December fifteenth is gonna be either the saddest or happiest day of our lives uggghhhh.

What’re yalls stats? Copy and paste the same format thing from the 2016 discussion thread and let us all know!! Omg guys lets all be friends!! Start posting!!

Actually I guess it was like a year ago. Summer 2011.

December 15th… Just the mentioning of that date sends chills down my spine 0_0

Signing for applying early.

I’m literally s***ting my pants about the admissions. My ECs are soo weak and I can’t do jack about it at this point in time. The only thing I can take comfort in are my grades and test scores although I heard Stanford doesn’t place as much emphasis on those as they do everything else. I’m boned.

Hey guys! I’ll be pushing the button on Wednesday… yipes! Is anyone else here doing a Theater live audition on October 20th??

@harborceal

Cool! I’m not doing a theater audition, but I’m doing the live classical voice counterpart at Stanford on the 20th as well. Oh so fun. Maybe I’ll see you there.

I’m also doing EA. I have a few questions about the supplement application. First, on the profile questions, it says limit your response to 2 lines, but each box has a 300 character limit? Which should I go with? I’m having difficulty fitting some, like what I did the past 2 summers, into only two lines. Second, is it a faux pas to mention other school’s summer programs in the short response / essays? I’m just mentioning them to highlight my love for certain subjects, not to actually talk about the program.

I am applying to Stanford (REA) too.
Is anyone else sending in the arts supplement?

@redchair
Just consider your responses as VERY LONG 2 sentences. XP
I think I used about 250 characters in each of my responses as well.

Hey Eucliiris, I’m sending in a SCEA arts supplement too :)

I was considering sending one in, but the deadline is way to early for EA. I haven’t even started my essays yet.

@cherryblossom71
Which art are you doing?
I am a violinist. :)

I sent in a visual arts supp for painting/drawing, and one for piano. The arts deadline does suck though…

^^
I can’t agree more. For some reason, I overlooked the fact that the arts supplement+common app is due on the 15th, so I had to rush.

Yeah, I haven’t gotten much sleep this past week. Staying up until midnight writing essays. Oh the things I do for love ;)

Okay, I’m about to submit my Stanford supp. It’s so exciting and nervewracking at the same time! BTW, if you’ve submitted your stuff already, did the payment register automatically or was there a delay like the Common App site warns you about? This might affect if I get some extra time on my Common App part.

I am stil reading and re-reading my common app and supplements… lol
