As a mom, I’m kind of hoping for the 14th (sorry everyone) so S can (hopefully) be finished with his last few applications before finding out. I think it might be hard to be motivated to finish them after he finds out either way.

Are the rest of you trying to complete other applications before your Stanford decisions?

It’s interesting, MomCares, I have the exact opposite feelings about it. I know I should be completing other applications before the Stanford decisions, but I just cannot bring myself to do it.

There’s several schools that I will apply to if I don’t get into Stanford, but that I won’t apply to if I do get in, so I’d much rather know the Stanford decision as early as possible to know if I even have to do the applications for those places.

I should be, but no. However, I have already been accepted to the University of Pittsburgh and have also applied to UCs, Case Western Reserve, and USC.

If I’m not accepted to Stanford, I have about 12 more schools I will apply to. Most have very short 1-2 essay supplements and some have none at all. I plan to do them during my 2 week winter break. I am literally busy beyond what I can even comprehend during the school week right now.

Haha - of course my opinion about this is completely irrelevant, since I’m not the one filling out those applications! For all I know, S may see this much the same as you both do. ;)

I remember last year’s EA decisions coming out around Dec. 9 or so since it was close to my friend’s birthday and I brought cake and that day, a girl in our newspaper class got the acceptance email :)

Does anyone know whether or not the admissions results are in the title of the email? Or do you just have to click it to find out? I feel like if I saw the email and the title was “Stanford Admissions Results” or something, rather than “Congratulations!” I would become pretty doubtful. I guess it doesn’t matter as you’d find out seconds later, but still, a title with “Congratulations” or “We’re Sorry” would be much easier to open up (already knowing the results).

It isn’t visible in the title of the email, based on last year’s thread. Someone posted about staring at the email and being afraid to open it.

I do know that if you are accepted or deferred, you will get a second email with a pin or something, but that can be delayed so you shouldn’t worry if you just see one email. But if you see two emails when you check, it means you at least weren’t rejected.

Who else is watching Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship? It is amazing how great Stanford seems to be in every facet of collegiality. Tremendous academics, athletics, extracurriculars, and everything else. It truly is the perfect university.

@Holocene Thanks for the info about the two emails!! I totally understand the obsession, I’m definitely guilty of it too :D

@Adodie I definitely feel the same way about the other applications. I have to submit the USC and UC applications because the deadline is before the Stanford decision. However, if I get accepted to Stanford then I am definitely attending, so to apply anywhere else before I need to would be a waste of time and money. (And emotional patience.) :)

@20tigger17 LOL I know that feel. Yeah, I applied to the UCs and USC cause of their deadlines. I am finishing up Case Western tomorrow because Dec. 1 is the deadline for their BS/MD program. I visited Case and I was surprised by how much I liked it. Especially cause I wasn’t really considering it and drove to Ohio on a whim while I was in Pennsylvania one day.

Anyway, if I get in I am basically only going to apply to a few schools where I might be able to get full tuition merit scholarships, because then I can graduate loan free. But other than that, no. Chances of getting into Stanford though are…meh.

No way I am doing any apps before the results. I can’t concentrate on them + if I get into Stanford I won’t have to apply to all of the ivies and can just relax. No point stressing now

Also, I’m really hoping the results just come out on the 7th. what is the link to the page that stanford would update notifying us they’re releasing decisions that day

and yeah that was a good pac-12 game i was torn because those are my 2 favorite schools haha

Hello everyone! I was busy with school and extracurricular, so I caught up today! How is everyone so far? Are we still in viable states of minds where we can carry out our daily tasks? XP

can somebody check their CSS profile tracking page? it should have a space for RD and one for REA and it may or may not have the date in. columbia already says 12/06 so i figured stanford MAY have their date out too, but i didnt do a CSS profile so i cant check for myself x.x
