Oh and this page was last updated November 9 :o

Unless they made decisions a month ago, that’s not possible…

My guess is that the page isn’t very good at tracking “last updated”

The 6100 does look like this year’s stats, meaning that they’ve already made decisions. Last year only had 5800 applicants.

I think they just posted ‘over 6100’ and ‘750’ as rough numbers which would certainly be known by 11/9. I think they’ll release decisions next Friday though, given the fact that they haven’t yet disclosed the total number of REA applicants and that they received a record number of applicants AND at least some impact by Sandy.

Why is every year more and more competitive? on the bright side at least I wasn’t born 20 years later.

Poor harborceal. Now I’m really curious. I’d like to see it too.

And what are you referring to when you talk about the release of the exact amount of SCEA applicants? Did they do that last year? If so how far in advance of d-day?

Btw @ the 20 years later thing: true life haha

I’m not PMing those who are just posting here - message me if you want.

And I agree with @amy0827 - what’s the relationship between “release of SCEA statistics” and release of results?

It was true for the past few years, and Columbia will release its results on this Thursday. Very likely Stanford will do it this Friday.

The notice is usually up around 9 AM PST the day of.

I wish they would release it Friday so I could get over my rejection.

Saaaame here.

No negative nancies allowed.

@harborceal that actually slightly disappoints me because I have a 2360 and a 36… darn =( How on earth can they use points if they have things like essays though?

@stressedasian152
Because hoz gon’ be hoz. Can’t blame Stanford.

I’m sure the essays get points assigned too…think of SAT essays haha. THough this is probably much more ambiguous.

If it’s not this Friday, I might have a heart attack before I can make it to next week.

I’m certainly very lucky to be a legacy and I appreciate it, but at the same time, the wound will run deeper if/when I’m rejected. I know that I will be fine, but Dec.-March of waiting will suck.

Not to mention the posters/diplomas/various paraphernalia in my house that I just can’t get away from.

@stressedasian152 - the “points” are used by your regional rep to determine committee cutoff, as far as I know. Once you get into committee, numbers barely matter and it’s all about the WRITING. Stanford honestly values writing so much, and there’s certainly no quantitative score for that. It’s all discussion.

and @Holocene - totally agree about the legacy thing

@holocene I second your first statement with all my heart i am SO sick of this!!!

I’ve reread my application way too many times.

Hahaha welcome to my life. My parents don’t want to deal with me anymore
