@pitabread78 - lol, you’re right about the humidity, but it’s been a GIGANTIC storm for the last few days. like, flash flood status. but it’s nice most of the time!! :P

Hmmm wonder where you got the wind of freedom idea…anyway, being from chicago, everything at stanford/bay area in general is pretty chill. I go to SoCal a lot and it’s chill too but up north it is different

I’m from LA so the scenery and weather is pretty similar, and that’s something that completely love about where I live. Stanford, even outside if that, is an institution unlike any other.

…So Stanford was founded exactly 110 years before my birthday so…i think the universe is speaking.

@smoneysoreal ITS A FREAKIN SIGN! im callin it right now for you: ACCEPTED

I live in the Northeast and I agree with what someone said about less trees…there’s WAY less trees. The sky just seemed so much more noticeable. Maybe that’s where people are getting the sense of freedom.
And, oh yeah, the lack of cold weather could be nice. I don’t mind rain as long as it’s not also freezing at the same time (which is how it is here).
I wasn’t a huge fan of how isolated Stanford seemed, but then again, I have the rest of my life to live in “the real world.”

Just curious, anyone on here planning to major in any of the arts or in communication?

@anar136 - Stanford definitely has a “bubble” that I really like, personally, because it gives the campus feeling. Honestly, though, downtown San Jose’s 20 minutes away and you can be in San Francisco in half an hour. It’s a great balance of having that seclusion and plenty of resources around.

@20tigger17, are you sure that Stanford usually releases decisions before the date indicated on the legacy letter?
@ccuser95, are you sure the FAQ fact is true? some other posts on this thread say something that this isn’t the number for this year or something

GAH WHAT IF IT’S FRIDAY?! TWO DAYS

@ seungyeonfan [Restrictive Early Action FAQs : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>FAQs : Stanford University)

there is the link to the FAQ he is referring to, the line “6100 reviewed, 750 admitted” is the first line up there. However, I’m not sure if this refers to last year or this year. It would make sense for this to be the number, it yields to about 12% acceptance rate which is near the same, or is LITERALLY the, statistic from class of 2016.

Of course, I’m not stanford CMOOON FRIDAYYY

edit: http://mathacle.blogspot.com/2012/12/stanford-received-6100-early.html this admission blog refers to the stanford SCEA 2017 decisions on a post dated 10:30 this morning. Sooooo, it’s probably from this year

AND the thing doesn’t say WILL ACCEPT. it says ACCEPTED. past tense. meaning that decisions are made. meaning that I see no reason they will not be released this Friday.

An I the only person applying for atmospheric and earth sciences lol? Does it help to apply for a major that few people apply for?

@dergeon1594 what is the source of that blog? is it just some college stalking guy, or is it some professional college counselor or something? if it’s that credible of a source, then i firmly believe the decisions will come out this Friday the, seeing as how they already have numbers on how many they’ve accepted (given the source is valid).

Idk whether to be happy or sad about this, actually. If I got rejected, that means that I just get depressed even earlier AND I’D HAVE TO WAIT MONTHS FOR ANOTHER COLLEGE :(((( oh well.

LET’S GO FRIDAY, LET’S JUST GET IT OVER WITH!

I’d like to think yes, but I can’t get over the “Last update: November 9, 2012 8:41 AM” at the bottom of the page. There is no way they made decisions by November 9th, 2012… so what gives? Also, if it’s been updated since last year, it can’t be last years data. So confusing…

Perhaps we should think outside the box, how could this be?

I mean an obvious solution is that the date does not auto-update and they forgot to change it… but… that doesn’t seem right. I’m really clueless. Oh well, guess I’ll sleep on it.

I think my optimism broke.

Fix it
Kidding. It will be ok.
What’s the little green box under our post counts btw?

I think it means we’re online.

Nvm, everyone seems to have it.

It means you’re getting into Stanford :p

When you hover over it it says “USER is on a distinguished road.”

I don’t know why.

It’s difficult to tell, you guys are right it would be unlikely if not absolutely impossible for them to have made decisions by the 9th. Either way, all our arguing and expectations won’t change the date when it actually comes out, but I am still optimistic for this Friday since Columbia’s early pool is done and they have already released their numbers (3126 early decision) and are ready to release decisions this Thursday AND the campus was directly affected by Hurricane Sandy. So that’s my 2 cents of logic.
