Sorry for my ignorance. What is the difference between wait list versus alternate list? Thanks.
@GoldenRock they are the same thing
Not sure about what percent usually get picked from wait listed folks. Hope most of you get in
Hi all, I’m a parent who has been lurking for a while. I’d like to thank all those who’ve contributed here and have helped us immensely.
My D got the email of acceptance from Neomed this afternoon. This was followed by snail mail from Akron later in the day. The Akron letter was dated March 14. We live in the Cleveland area and, therefore, may have received the letter before others here.
Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear from the schools.
So looks like Akron posted letters on March 14th. I would think Kent propably did the same.
Even today we didn’t get letter from any of the 3 colleges. We did get mail today from NeoMed. The same one we get through email.
I got the letters today! One from NEOMED which was the same as the email letter and one from Akron (top choice) saying I was accepted
@VaishS Congratulations!! I’m in the same boat as you. I got everything in the mail today and got in my top choice of Akron as well!!
Good luck to everyone else!
Anyone got from Kent?
I received my acceptance from Kent today with my NEOMED letter.
Finally got letter today for Kent. It’s was her first preference.
Congratulations! My son also got for Kent, but he was looking for Akron. Wondering if you could share advantages of Kent over the others. I know it varies from person to person but trying to look the positive things of what we have got.
Today got the postal mail from NEOMED my D in alternate list of UofA. The mail indicates at this point, it is more of UG school decision than NEOMED per se. So it implies NEOMED is fine to accept but since each UG schools has their own seats limitations, these students are put in alternate list.
Do any one know, if UofA maintains a separate alternate list for OOS and IS or is that a single list?
Also do any one know typically how many students are put in the alternate list? Did any one know that stat from any previous years or from any of the 3 schools web site?
@GoldenRock I’m guessing there is a separate list for instate vs out of state. The schools can only accept one or two kids each from out of state. I have no idea how many are on the list but I think each school will want to fill all the spots they have. I think each school can accept 35.
@Pras2016 Having spoken to current and former students, I believe that there really isn’t much to choose between the 3 campuses except geographical proximity from where one lives. Each have their pros and cons. Most Kent students said that the initial pressure is less there and students get the time to ease into the program before it gathers steam.
Kent wasn’t the first choice of a couple of the students I spoke to at the interview, but they all said that they would choose Kent if given the option again. Kent also has a nice campus and good housing options.
Congratulations and good luck to your son!
My daughter chose Kent just because the school seems to be nice and also not rigorous initially. If any one (girls) are going to join kent please ping me. Looks like I need to start looking at the dorms and possibly find roommate to stay with her.
Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted this year!!
If you plan on attending NEOMED and have a facebook account, then feel free to add yourself to the NEOMED Class of 2022 and 2021 Group.
My son got in Kent program. We are OOS. Also, he is searching for his dorm roommate. Is there a list of boys for Kent BS/MD program? Thanks.
Thanks
Neomed’s first year medicine (M1) profile typically shows an intake of 87 BS/MD students whereas the number entering the program (C1) is about 105. Do the remaining 18 students pursue the 7 year option or move on to other fields?
Does anyone have stats on the matriculation ratio?
