I don’t have any stats but some decide the program is not their desire, some can’t maintain their GPA, some can’t get the required MCAT score, etc. Some do a third year in undergrad but that shouldn’t impact the number because some of those 87 probably took a third year themselves.
When I was there in YSU for the interview C2s were saying around 10 C1 and C2 s in Kent and Akron did not like Neomed and moved out of the program…and some C2s from Kent did not have the support system to meet the graduation requirements…when I heard from them I did not believe then… Now the numbers clearly add up…
I also have seen some chatter in CC in other threads…You can call the respective schools to verify…
@GoldenRock, congratulations on your D making it to Oklahoma. I guess that rules Neomed out.
Others who have been accepted, have you guys finalized on Neomed?
@eduthiast Thanks. Yes, we have notified NEOMED to remove from the alternate list. GL to every one.
Just sent my withdrawal note to YSU. Yale bound. Good luck guys.
Did any one accept into Kent? We are thinking between Kent/NeoMed and University of Cincinnati ( Not guranteed )
Not sure if these kids have life for the first two years if they go into Kent.
Hey does anyone know any graduates from the NEOMED program? Just so I could talk to them and see what their experience was like?
Two things I came to know from couple of people I talked to regarding Kent. They go easy compared to other two partner universities of Neomed. So kids coming from HS doesn’t feel that much pressure as soon as they start the college. Secondly they have an option to do it in three or more years and still get into NEOMED. But I would confirm with the students studying there.
Has anyone on the alternate list for NEOMED received an email or call informing them they have been chosen for the program?
If anyone got call from alternate list please post here. I am sure some of the folks should get calls since I see lot of students who got selected didn’t go. I assume we would propably know this week since it’s May 1st today.
@dvrvarma123 Did your D decide to accept Neomed or go elsewhere?
Good luck to the ones on the alternate list. Hope they’ve already heard or will hear from Neomed soon.
My daughter is going to Kent/Neomed.
Just got a call from the head director at Kent State offering me a spot! I was an alternate candidate chosen for the BSMD program.
Thanks! Hopefully my son will receive a call from one of the universities, since he was an alternate for all three of the universities.
My son just received a call from Kent today for Neomed. He will be Kent bound!
@Uncopyrightabe @jrhcbh, Congratulations!
As posted earlier, there are facebook groups for the incoming batch at Neomed and the individual undergrad schools. Just search for Neomed 2022 to find the groups.
Thank you and thanks for the information!
Just to update. My son was offered a spot with NEOMED off the alternate list last week and formally declined this morning. Good luck to those who accepted their offers as well as those to be offered spots in the coming weeks!
do you think they filled all the alternate spots?
@whatiscollege112233 All three schools will continue to use alternate spots all the way till June 10th depending upon available slots. Normally they give only 48 hours from the time they call/email with the offer before moving on to the next one on the list.Good luck to you if you are eagerly awaiting the call.
