Congrats to everyone being considered at VCU!! (I didn’t apply haha)

@Lari- I posted this in the other thread, but I got that same message about a week ago. It means that they sent your application to the med school, and now it’s in Jefferson’s hands. Jefferson sent me an email today for an interview in 2 months, so you’ll probably hear from them soon too!

@punjabigenius- you can definitely be a doctor without being a bio major. I’m hoping to major in social sciences unless I’m accepted to programs that only allow for Bio or chem majors, which is more rare. Programs such as Rice, Northwestern, Case, Brown, TCNJ, and others allow you to major in anything you want as long as you complete premed requirements. VCU, according to my knowledge, allows you to major in whatever you want as well. So, I don’t think it’s erroneous, it’s just letting you know that there are other options.

with the recent slew of early action/decision acceptances, i’m seriously regretting not applying to any colleges ea/ed. i’m so jealous that many of them are done with the college app process!

Late but:
Got the Honors College acceptance and decent scholarship from NJIT
Pitt - acceptance to UG Honors but no word for GAP yet
Villanova - acceptance to UG, asked for supplement
a few other ug acceptances…

after reading several posts, i’m very concerned about my TCNJ status right now. i sent in my application about a month ago but no response at all. i’ve seen starlight and thejerseygirl receive interviews, but did anyone else? so nervous now!
congrats to everyone who got interviews though!

So glad to hear everyone getting interviews for BS/MDs waiting for possible umsi fame and pact interview calls is nerve wracking. Anyone know what those programs time lines are?

Gah why are there so many threads this year? This one can be consolidated into the Interview Notification Sticky and all of the individual program threads aren’t really necessary unless discussion is specifically needed for those programs. Sorry for the criticism, it just was a lot more organized for the 2013 thread, easier to “follow the story” of the application process.

I called Saint Bonaventure, and the guy said that the final round of decisions will be sent out by the end of this week or early next week via snail mail.

@chillychews, don’t worry about TCNJ because they already sent out letters letting students know if they are not being considered for the 7 year program so if you havent gotten anything, it’s probably for the better. You’ll hear soon!

@txtony24, I just called Saint Bonaventure today as well (do we possibly have the same counselor?). He said that my application was under review and that I should hear something “soon”. ahh so nervous, i really like this program!

@ChillyChews Don’t worry too much, TCNJ is holding interviews through to February so they just might not have gotten to you yet. Hope everything works out!

txtony24, it does not sound very good to me if SBU is saying that the decision will be sent by snail mail.

Has anyone applied to the U of Sciences program with The Commonwealth Medical College? My son got his interview invitation today. He is aware that the program is rather new and the only guarantee U of Sciences give is a guarantee interview with the Medical School but he would still like to have the options and the choices at the end, even though I think his guaranteed BS/DO program with Gannon/LECOM is better.

IMGDAD - I know a local kid who joined undergrad this year. I don’t know much about it and googled it when the parents told me that’s where the kid is headed. This is around Philly right?

I would say attend the interviews and do well at least to get more practice.

@texaspg, yes, it is in Philly and I agree with your suggestion. Also, when I look at the email my son received from the Program Director, I think that the lack of guarantee on their part is probably a reflection that they are just being careful. What the email said is that after fulfilling the GPA and MCAT, you have to pass the interview with the Medical School. To me, this is just fair to make sure that you do okay at the interview. If they are not cautious, what if the student make a mess of the interview? The school has given a very sizeable scholarship to my son for the undergraduate program.

@txtony24, I might be wrong but most, if not, all interview invitations and good news are transmitted to the students by phone and/or emails and the bad news only by snail mails.
