readingrocks, if u r out of state, it wont matter. in state might matter. they only see a complete application. otherwise it sits with the coordinator

kennedy - good luck

@HPMEMOM
You mean the Oct 15th deadline only applies to in state for UMKC?

they allot seats based on a percentage for instate and its counties and few for regional and out of state. so if u r instate it is to your advantage to submit early. if u r not, then no big deal. this is for umkc

Thanks @HPMEMOM.

I am in the same boat as you @readingrocks. Missed it by one rec letter!

I also missed one rec letter… How bad will it come back to bite me? Is there a worse chance to get accepted now?

Hi everyone! I have been really set on becoming a doctor through the BS/MD route, and I have even finished most of my essays and applications. I am primarily applying to UMDNJ and Drexel Med programs. However, I feel that my SAT and SAT subject scores are lacking.

So far, my highest one-sitting score is:
SAT:
Total - 2210/2400
M - 750/800
CR - 710/800
W - 750/800
(Super score for CR+M is 1510, but I doubt that matters).

SAT II:
Math 2: 650
Biology: 760

Would I be better off retaking my SAT or SAT Math II Subject Test to get in? Everything else on my application meets the standards of BS/MD Programs. Thank you in advance, any input would be great.

Although SAT scores are one of factors in a holistic review, it’s better to improve your subject test score especially for Math 2. Based on your math score of SAT I, you could improve it without much of effort, I think. I know it’s stressful but worthwhile trying. Please also keep in mind that subject scores are not under “must have” in all BS/MD programs. So, it’s upto which BS/MD programs you apply for.

Do you need insane number of volunteer hours to get Siena interview?

IMGDAD - Congrats! Can you pls answer the following questions?

1) Is the Gannon/LECOM a binding contract?
2) How many days or weeks did you have to sign the contract after LECOM made the offer to your son?
3) Do you have to pay a huge deposit as a token of acceptance?
4) Can you still get out of the contract before May 1, 2014 should your son get a different BS/MD admission or choose not to attend the LECOM program?
5) Will Gannon/LECOM refund the deposit and cancel the contract without conditions if you opt out?

FAME is not a new program since they have had an year of admissions already.

@Pappapar, I have emailed you the answers. Good luck.

@Medicine45, FAME started its first intake this year. To me, it appears that it is giving preference to those students from Houston, San Antonio, and South Texas. My daughter was not invited for an interview but her classmate from Houston was, even though his stats etc were all much lower than my daughter’s. Good luck.

I was just emailed about an interview for NJIT’s Accelerated Program. Does anyone have any suggestions/know what they ask?

Also, this sounds pretty silly, but any idea what to wear (I’m a girl btw). Is it like super formal or just business casual? Thankss :)

Same, also just got an email by the NJIT/ UMDNJ Program and have no clue what to expect at the interview.

I am a guy. What should I wear?

Always a suit.

I also received an invitation to interview at NJIT. Maybe I’ll see some of you there?

Did You Guys also receive an email saying that someone was out of office when u replied to the email on scheduling the interview?

Yes, I got that email too. I wouldn’t worry because we responded immediately, so we can’t be held accountable if the message was seen late.

Hey congrats guys!! I was asked to interview at NJIT too, and got the email back saying the person was out of office. I just replied to the email that sent the interview notification, and they emailed me back with my official time, so I suggest you do that!! When are people going? I’m on the 25th :)

I’m a girl- what should I wear?!

Always a suit!
