***Official Thread for 2016 BSMD applicants***

@chocolatina1001 Don’t have to retake US History. Your scores are good. Subject tests, not all programs need. Even for few which needs, you are good. At this stage, start spending energy on essays / prompts etc., Once schools starts, you need to focus on 1st semester courses. Overall app need to be start and not necessarily test scores need to be perfect or near perfect. GL

I applied this past year with a 780 in Math 2 and a 730 on Chemistry. I can honestly say that based on the results of my applications SAT Subject tests are a very small part in the grand scheme of things. I’m Indian BTW.

@junebug999 Hope and wish some thing worked out for you. Did you get the offer from OU MHSP since you were waitlisted? Where did you accept and decided to do your education. Thanks.

Thanks guys! @srk2017 @GoldenRock @Undecided3494

@What???!!

@Undecided3494 - that is for posting the stats. Is the scholarship main reason for going to AMC/Union or leadership program? Any info on Stony Brook? Also, are you a NY resident?

Not really for the scholarship because it was 20k which still left around 40k a year to pay, but luckily my parents have saved for my college education to allow me to go anywhere I wanted. The main reason for choosing the LIM program is the fact that it allows me to study history and biology during undergrad plus I will study and get an MBA in Healthcare Management during undergrad as well which I feel is quite valuable in today’s world. Stony Brook question if I remember pertained to how Medicine is part of your life and how it intrigues you, since I did research I feel like I was able to answer this question very well. What this means is that if you are thinking about applying to Stony Brook make sure you have some sort of research experience and think deeply about why medicine is important to you. To answer your final question, yes I am a NY state resident.
