Official thread october sat 2013 test

@PorcupineCup
There are only 2 versions of the test. One is administered in America. The other is administered EVERYWHERE ELSE. So no, the International test is not “different anyways.”

Hmm just took international. Math sucked imho. Normally, I’d end each math section 5-10min ahead of time. I struggled on all three this time. :frowning: Don’t know if it was nervousness or the test was just harder…
CR and W were ok though. Don’t think I made any mistakes and ended 5-10min ahead of time as usual.
Let’s see what the experimental section was. Did you guys have a CR section with a Disney World passage? I think that was CR experimental.

I didn’t have the Disney World passage. What were the other Critical Reading passages you had?

Yeah I believe that was experimental. My experimental was math and I didn’t have that Disney thing. And you are right. Math wasn’t that hard but the questions required too much time… CR and W were I believe easier than the June test. OMG that electoral passage thing in that June SAT killed me…

Let’s see… I had one with an astronaut-photographer and one with two passages about classical music.

Please wait until everyone is finished with the test.

Thank you.

Did you think the passages were difficult?

I thought most of the critical reading questions were ok but there were a few hard ones.

@Aragog
Good point.

@ pi

Yes. Exactly. Astronaut thing was pretty easy. Classical was OK. What did you say about the question asking about the “unconverted”? I said it was author of passage 1 because other choices seemed pretty irrelevant.

Don’t discuss the questions of the CR yet

I think I got 3 or 4 no errors… how about you guys?

@chocolate321
There were a few rather ponderous sentence completions. But nothing impossible imo. CR was fine. Math worries me, because I couldn’t check anything after I had finished. I’m looking forward to the discussion. And I wanted to stay away from CC this time.

@toughman
same.
But we should really wait with the discussion until everyone has finished.

@pi haha we are the same! I didn’t have any time to check the questions at math. I just did them and time was already out. For CR and W I had a lot of time remaining! - which is pretty interesting because it was the opposite in practice tests. I will send a private message to you. Let’s discuss them on messages, not here.

Yayyyyy
Doneeee :slight_smile: But I think I’m gonna retake in Dec

khsini7 same here! PLEASE PM me to discuss the questions.

I struggled on CR this time. The classical music questions… 10, 11(maintained) and 14 were hard for me. Can anyone message me the answers to those three questions? really really worried.
Also, in the writing section about maps… I was really confused Anyone had that?

The classical music was a bit misleading, but not hard nonetheless. I don’t really remember the answers sorry.

Guys which section you think is experimental for international students and are there different test formats or order per country?

for that classic music question, the maintained one, what did u guys put?
is it supporting or held up ? held on? not sure…

@Aragog - I was among the first ones to finish the test…Fool
