Official UC Irvine Fall 2017 Transfer Applicant Thread

@futurelawyer88 Haha yea, I’ve been creeping on it too just to see how it’s going! It’s making me excited yet anxious! April 21 seems so far!

@Nataliee177 Me too, so excited  I hope you get in!! Goodluck!

@futurelawyer88 You too!!

Hey guys, do you know people getting in even if their gpa became less the TAG required gpa (3.4) ?? Do they still consider your application if you have all the pre reqs and the gen ed completed?

@Ucsdsdsu Hey, not sure about UCI but I know TAG in general can be picky. My brother’s TAG was rejected to UCSC for having a GPA 0.01 lower than needed (he still got in for regular admission).

Yeah just not as tag,you would become a regular applicant.

If you don’t keep the minimum 3.4 TAG gpa after you are accepted, can they rescind you?

@seokminnie0218 Absolutely, and they do all the time

Well if IGETC is not completed and your major is CS… I’d also say 75% too. Well its UCI …and you have a good gpa.

Do you guys know if we have to send AP scores to UCs through College Board now or wait until they ask you to because some of my AP scores count as college units/credits? I am a transfer. Thank you.

@studebt you send AP scores to the UC you SIR to along with your transcript when they ask you

@Nataliee177, I applied to UCSB, UCSD, UCLA and UCBerkeley. I’m only looking at UCLA and Berkeley seriously though. UCI is really close to where I live right now, and it would be very convenient to make the transition.

@starrysaraa @shooguu Do you two have any interest on meeting up on that day? I’ll be going seeing as the rest of the decisions won’t really be out by then, and it would be nice to more directly meet people on that day. If so, maybe we can start a list of the people interested in doing so as well as they filter in?

can we get rescinded if we get a D in a calculus class (last of the series) but it isn’t required for transfer? (I already finished the first two calc classes with passing grades and statistics to meet math requirement and I am a bio major)

Admitted on the 13th

Congrats to everyone else who got in!

@seokminnie0218 I’m in a similar situation! Hopefully someone can answer this!

@mellieator Yeah I don’t mind getting together at the event.

@seokminnie0218 You should message your counselor in the portal. I’m not entirely sure either.

Lets make a new thread for UCI
I am wanting to go to UCI- University of California Irvine (transferring as a JR. for Computer Science Major) I am white, Male, upper-middle class, 20, live in Los Angles
So I will have a 3.75 GPA with 62 semester units done, met all their requirements of classes I need and the ones stated on ASSIST.org. I finished Calc 1&2 and Linear algebra. Finished the Language class, Java. Finished what else was needed for the minimum.
What are my chances to get in? (didnt complete IGETC but they said thats okay because I followed their requirements)

Dang I really wanted to go to the Celebrate UCI day and meet my fellow transfers…

Does anyone know how hard it is from CSU to UC? How many people got accepted from CSU to UC in the past?
Im currently taking a ridiculous amount of hard classes and struggling in one. I have 50/50 of classes from CSU and CC. I’m also applying as a software engineering with a 3.5 major gpa and a 3.48 gpa overall. What are my chances? I also posted my info a few pages back.

Thanks
