@otoribashi The park is big but also spacious! Trees aren’t overcrowding, you can definitely see buildings and life outside of the park! If you stand on one side you can see the other From my experience if you’re anywhere in the Orange County area you’re automatically about 20-30 minutes away from the beach at all times HAHA!!
I’m sorry you had such a bad experience in middle school! That sounds terrible, kids can be mean. But I genuinely don’t think that would happen in college. Everyone is open, educated and nice minus a few exceptions along the way of course. I recommend joining clubs, or a fraternity or participating in student life to make new friends if that helps!
@otoribashi
I’ve heard the students at UCI are very welcoming so don’t worry. Yes, UCI has many asian students from my understanding, but I’ve never heard any complaints from my non-asian friends who attend UCI.
Transfer students get 1 year guaranteed on campus housing. Although there is no official transfer “dorms” or apartments, there is one themed housing called Arroyo Vista where they group students of particular interests. One of them would be a group of transfer students, another would be based on your major, or maybe even student clubs.
Does anyone who tagged and did not have the admission?
i TAGGED but haven’t heard back yet, probably due to my drop in GPA after applying

My GPA is a 3.38 now! It’s not a giant drop and my major gpa is around a 3.7 so I’m hoping it won’t be that big of a problem. I got accepted at ucsb earlier this month and they are more selective for my major

EC: Served 5 years as a Navy Corpsman. In Afghanistan, I built the only sustainable trauma center in Helmand Province despite most of the province falling to the Taliban. As of today, it still provides patient care 0 for wounded ANA soldiers as well as local civilians. I did this with a budget of a million dollars, but completed it in half that and much more effective than prior teams on the project. Also, in 2014 I played a role in the historic retrograde of SFAAT Nolay, an advisor team based out of the infamous Sanghin Valley that has been the battleground for some of the hardest fighting the Marine Corps has seen in OEF. I’ve trained and mentored Afghan medics to become confident in their skills to the point where they could provide medical care for their own independently of American and coalition support. I have experience with diplomacy, and the hardships of bringing two extremely polarizing cultures together for a singular purpose. My essays hit on the errors of nation building and stresses the importance of truly combined political and military solution, as well as the failures that led to these fixes.
After my time in the Navy, I worked for UCLA Health before focusing on my academics. At my CC, I have been a tutor for English, even managed to get a whole class for myself. Since then, I have been involved I several non profits for veterans in Los Angeles.
Also, does anyone know if veterans are decided in separate pools from civilians?
Yea my portal still says “We have received your application”. I’m not sure if its suppose to say pending or not.
u have a chance since it’s above 3.0
So Aldrich park is a perfect circle that is varying in terrain height, small hills and such, full of trees but not like a forest. You might have a hard time seeing across campus because of that topography, but the ring road is almost a mile long from start to finish, and google maps satellite virew can give you a good idea. The beach is pretty close, you could drive there in about 10 or 15 minutes. As a bird flies it’s not far, but traffic and stop lights, and the roads to the sea will bog you down. I’m a transfer and white, uci is totally chill and the odds are people are just as afraid of you, as you may be of them. I’ve never had any problem talking with students, and again I’m very happy with UCI as I wrap up year 1.
