Has anyone heard back from UCI? Man this thread is just shitposting. All I want is to hear if people got in or rejected.
@DocAzure not even dude. you guys have so much to offer. but i don’t think there’s a separate pool for vets.
UCI is one of the best schools in the country as far as financial aid goes. UCR seems… stingy. i’m low income and my family contribution is literally $0 and they offered me 26k. I would need 10k per year in loans. UCI admitted me for fall 2016 (I was unable to attend for reasons out of my control) and they offered me 37k I think. And that was with only one loan of 5k. UCI really does care about affordability.
we already done about this subject, why are you bringing the stuff from yesterday. I said I was joking. move on with your life
Hey guys quick question (i know it was probably answered a while back but…) when is the expected date that most applicant will hear back from Irvine again?
@yungsavageg when I messaged UC Irvine Admissions on Facebook, they said it would start this week, but they didn’t specify a date. Everyone on here says it will mostly likely come out in small batches throughout the week and then the majority of people will hear back this Friday, the 21st
@futureanteater97 That’s really great to hear! My CC is on spring break right now so my plan was to visit the UC’s but most decisions didn’t come out and the majority seem to be releasing decisions close to the end of my break so I’ll probably have to wait a while longer to visit. Hopefully we all hear back by the end of this week! fingers crossed
@gabyitzelq1 From what I was offered from UCR, it was around 15K, which is just enough to pay for an on-campus apartment through the academic year while still maintaining my ability to pay my family’s rent and living expenses in Los Angeles. It’s comforting to hear that UCI is extremely generous with financial aid, as my family is also contributing 0 to fund my college expenses. After all, if I’m going to be away from my family, I want to make sure they’re taken cared of first before myself.
Another question, concerning scholarships. From what I’ve read, FA is reduced based on scholarships that you receive, whether they are public or private. Does this mean that if FA provides for everything I may need down at Irvine, is there any real reason to apply for scholarships?
So UCI, UCLA, and UCSD all release their decisions on April 21st according to college confidential estimates?! Wow thats cruel haha. Good luck everyone! Last few days
so during the week( April 17 till 20 ) they are not going to send decisions?
@DocAzure Just want to say Thank you for your service and good luck on hearing back on Friday!
@yungsavageg UGH I was super impatient so I messaged UCI on Facebook (I was hoping they would be more specific than UCI’s Admissions page) but they told me:
Transfer admissions decisions will be released through April 30. We know it’s so difficult to wait, so thank you for your patience!
So hopefully they tell us soon… I don’t know if I can wait until the 30th :’(
I was reading the UCLA thread and some people were posting about Regents invitations at UCI. I was surprised to come home today to find a letter waiting for me from UCI… It’s a Regents invitation.
UCI seems like an amazing and welcoming school so far super stoked. But waiting for LA/B
@ericpanda999 congratulations! Even if you choose to go elsewhere, getting regents at any UC is a huge achievement! Good job!
@DocAzure well you applied for scholarships directly from the UC application i think? well theres a section on there where you pick i think like 16 options and i think those are scholarships, i cant remember. federal aid will be grants and scholarships from the school, as well as federal loans (unsub and subsidized). you can always apply for scholarships on your own time, which i do recommend bc a little extra money does help!
Sorry for repeating but like davis/sd
Will decisions be coming on friday?(21st)
Thanks!
Are regents scholarships given only to those who are below a certain income or is everyone eligible? I still don’t really understand how all of that works

@gabyitzelq1 I got accepted to UCR and want to know if you got waitlisted how long did you wait for the acceptance? And if I was waitlisted for uci do i submit the SIR for ucr?
@babysnow if in the possibility that you are waitlisted, you should register to Riverside if that is what you want and if you do get off the waitlist you can just SIR to UCI afterward so don’t risk waiting for the waitlist but you can opt-in Also, usually waitlist start to know if they got in after the SIR date because the school has to gauge how many spots they have left to let people in off the waitlist I hope this helps and good luck!
