@Mbarnes18
I’m having the same issue

Just saw my acceptance today! But what I was hoping someone knew, was when the Regents/First Years Honors Program is going to be sending out acceptances? Did anyone who was invited via email to apply, already get an acceptance? :-/

I’m adding to this post for future applicants who might review this thread.

Due to a medical issue in Jan, my D left her public HS and went independent study. She was not able to take the AP’s she had planned since they are not offered at the charter school we are working with. She also had to forgo Latin III and the last semester of AP Calc, so she didn’t hit the recommended A-G’s although she made the required. The charter school is also ranked much lower than her former HS.

I called the admissions office and spoke with a very nice woman who sent my D a form to complete, which she did in late Jan. In Feb she received the email for the application to honors/regents which she completed hastily. We have been concerned that perhaps due to timing issues that the honors/regents offer came out before the change report was processed and that she might have lost her acceptance. We toyed with the idea of reporting the change after an acceptance was in hand, but took Ms Sun’s advice and reported it promptly with much trepidation.

As stated in a former post, here are her stats:
SAT 2010
W 4.22 UW 3.89
Good EC’s/personal statements-she’s a pretty good writer-740 SAT writing-and her essays were very moving (IMHO)
Applied to Literature

We are happy to report an acceptance and are very relieved. This is my D’s dream school and seems like a perfect match for her personality. My advice based on our experience is to report any changes from your senior year plan and explain them fully.

If you have a change and you haven’t reported it yet, you should do that asap. I read somewhere that UCSC has the highest rescind rate of all UC’s. Don’t let them find out on their own-give youself a chance to explain your case. Many thanks to Ms Sun’s blog for the good advice!

Good luck future baby Slugs!

S was accepted. OOS - he’d love to be a slug but we probably can’t do it financially. Still, he’s applied for some outside scholarships so we’ll see. Also still waiting on USC…
GPA (UW): 3.93 No APs offered at his school, , but he took the most rigorous curriculum available (until this trimester, when he basically has 1/2 day, including debate and ceramics…)
ACT: 31
SAT: 1960
Swimmer (state medals in long distance but nowhere near Div I times), actor, robotics. PT job as a lifeguard.
Essays, etc. - not bad, not awesome. IMO.
Intended major : CS (games)

@Mbarnes18 @onebadguanaco
I was waited listed too, at 12:01am
3.7 GPA, 26 ACT, many sports and a couple jobs
The tab wasn’t available until I woke up this morning but what you’ll do is under main menu go to "applicants status and info which is the same area you’d get to your application status and there will have been a third tab added saying “accept waitlist offer”. Once you click on that there will be a paragraph follow by just a little check mark box saying “I accept my waitlist offer”. All you have to do is click the box and you’re on the waitlist.
