Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

is UCI the top choice for anyone here?

UCI i think is going to be 3rd choice. more like second because i wont get into UCSD probably

3.3 GPA International Relations major.

 1. UC Davis - Pending
 2. UC San Diego - Pending
 3. UC Irvine - Pending
 4. UC Santa Barbara - Pending
 5. UC Riverside - Accepted

It’s top choice for me and the reason why I TAG’d to it til I voided it because I changed my major ;-;

If anyone was wondering, message center is back up and running. However, it’s as empty as it was before :<

@jumbo11: UCI is my 2nd choice. At this point though, I’d be happy to get accepted into any UC. I only applied to 3 places… I should’ve applied to more.

I am a transfer, got my admission + scholarship notification last week. Did not TAG.

So…has anyone been keeping track of how many batches of admissions they’ve had so far?

umm i just checked my status and recieved a new message about writing an essay!?! ***

UCI is my top choice (Psych major) with UCSD as a close second. I dont think I’ll get in though, so if not I’ll SIR to UCSB.

Sent from my PG86100 using CC

@Cuciaio You said you were admitted to transfer and did not TAG? If you dont mind me asking, what is you GPA and what major did you get accepted for? Did you have a lot of EC’s? Thanks!

UCI is my #1 choice.

@ UCkitty: Did you happen to receive any info regarding SFSU financial aid info? Their portal still says that I don’t have anything on file. As a matter of fact, I have not received financial aid info from any of the CSUs.

no, but i did from east bay yesterday.

i didn’t understand it though. were is your top UC choice?

@ UCkitty: Oh I see. Lame, I haven’t received anything from them. lol. My top 3 are LA, SD and Irvine. Berkeley too but I know I’m not going to get accepted. I applied to all the UC’s except Merced just to see what I could get into. But if I don’t get into my top 3 UCs than SFSU is my top choice CSU. Ironically CSUF(PR program) which I got into is probably the best choice for my major but I just don’t want to stay local.

ohh nice… UCI is my top 3 choice as well… Im worried on what the social life and night life is there… I heard good and bad due to it being strict/cops everywhere/boring/isolated… but also it depends on who you hang out with? any thoughts?

Yes, UC-Irvine is socially boring but there are some fun stuff that happens there. Cops here are extremely strict.

jumbo11// since I live in Irvine, I guess I can tell you little bit about Irvine.

It really depends on what you like to do.
I don’t like going clubbing, drinking, or getting high. I’m more like playing sports and chilling with my friends. I don’t know if you visited Irvine before, but there are so many parks in Irvine.

Also, there’s Irvine Spectrum, South Coast Plaza, and Fashion Island. Yes, they close like around 10~11 (?), which is a huge downside for the nightlife lovers. And since it’s “Irvine”, some neighbors could be really strict about partying. But like what you said, you’ll always find a guy with an apartment/house, where you can do whatever you want to do.

Another downside is many restaurants close before midnight. Yes, there’s Del Taco, In n Out, Wendy’s, and etc…

Like what you said, it all depends on who you hang out with/what you like to do.

@ Jumbo11: I think Irvine’s social life is pretty good. But yeah it does depend who you know because the city itself is very “industrial” I guess but there are bars. I remember going to hang out with my friends at UCI when they dormed(back in 05, yeah I’m kinda old) but the social thing doesn’t concern me all too much anymore. I’ve been there done that and just want to graduate and move on at this point. lol

@caboy26: Lol, just stay away from that racist chick-fil-a in Irvine. And if I remember correctly I think theres an In-n-Out really close to campus too.

@iDizzle, its literally across the street. its also very well known amongst locals for its kobe sightings.

i don’t know why people keep talking about how boring some of the UC areas are. is it wrong to assume that since we are all transfer students that we have access to a car or can utilize public transportation? there are thousands of people at each UC. its up to you to get out there and find the right people and get out and explore the areas. and its not like you HAVE to hang out with only people from school

^^In-N-Out is–literally–right across the street as Navymike192 says.

Rampage Jackson (UFC Fighter) use to live in the same neighborhood as me–until he moved. and I also saw him at “The District” in one of the pubs. There is a huge 24 Fitness gym that a lot of celebrities go to. Also, several corporations reside in Irvine–Ford Motor Co, Mazda, Blizzard Entertainment, Vizio, and etc.

And I have also seen Kobe Bryan many times that I became desensitized to his presence.
