last year they released at 12 even though they sent out a schedule of different release times. My release time is 2am but ill be checking at 12am!!!

@nssamrqz1 My daughter went to UCSC and my son went to UCSD. My take is that UCSC is more of a liberal arts school … while UCSD is more engineering, medical, mathematics, econ, etc. SC is beautiful, high up on a hill overlooking Monterey Bay. UCSD is in La Jolla. There’s not much night life in La Jolla, but San Diego is very close by. La Jolla is pretty, but the UCSD campus, IMO, isn’t especially attractive.

If they could take the time to write all that out why couldn’t they have released decisions not in the middle of the night? Just a thought
@Elise2139 don’t worry too much, those are stats for accepted students, which are higher than the stats of students who enroll. If you look at common data set info you’ll get a better idea what you’ll need. Check here http://planning.ucsc.edu/IRPS/cds.asp. Your GPA was the average for 2014. Hang in there and good luck!
In that case, I was certainly denied. If yall look at my scores, you’ll understand. Samhynder, I agree lol. Wasting my time if they already know it all. Also a follow up question, why do UCR and UCSC have the same acceptance rate -.-

I feel like I saw you on some other thread, did you get into Davis or San Diego by any chance? Cal Poly Pomona is my top choice rn but I want to consider Santa Cruz too.

@nssamrqz1 honestly I’d go with SD but that’s just me, there’s this website startclass I think it’s called which can help you compare multiple universities and see which one you like better but it’ll only show you the facts, visiting will probably give you a better idea. I will say that many of my friends are hesitant to commit to SD because apparently it’s becoming insanely competitive like Berkeley is. Congrats on sd and good luck with sc

@ItsEZman honesty if you got into other schools I wouldn’t give up just yet. Not to sound snobby or anything, but us average/not freakishly smart kids have a better shot at UCSC than said smart kids. A lot of really high stat people get rejected just because SC knows they’re not actually gonna attend. As for whether or not you actually got in, you’ll find out in the next few hours.
I have to say, I love how chill and positive this thread is! I should’ve gone to sleep 3 hours ago but I wanted to check on you all. If anyone is going a bit crazy, help me pick a school: UCSC for global econ (even though this is one of my strengths it’s not want I actually want to do, I plan on switching to game art and design) or Cal Poly Pomona for Apparel Merc&Mgmt (probably what I’m best at lol). I need to graduate in 4 years!
@lyannastark omg congrats! I hope SD hurries up with the remaining decisions, it’s not fair to those still waiting! Hopefully they won’t drag things out like cal poly, every time me or my band of rejects see cal poly gear we start fuming. How does it take a month for a school to tell us we’ve been rejected!! Hey guys! I have been following a bunch of the threads recently (UCSD particularly -.-) but have never gotten down to making an account! So I just made one and hey! I’m scheduled to get my decision at 12:00 so I am counting down the minutes!! Santa Cruz isn’t my top choice but I am still excited to see my decision!
