Just don't see what all the fuss is about I guess. Few will be admitted, most will be denied, why worry so much about it. Its only a school. Good luck to all you worriers out there, hope you aren't too disappointed. If you are, just get over it and go to one of your backups. I'm sure they all will have classes, if it's a state school, they'll accept bright futures, they'll have plenty of young college students just like yourself to socialize with. Life just seems too short to get caught up in this stuff.

it's just to help others out dude. if you don't like it, you don't have to be here.

I for one, as a high school junior, would love to see these results. These kinds of things are very helpful!

I think it is stupid too. Stats aren't the only thing that make up a decision and if you're a junior and you don't have the stats yet, you really don't have time to do anything about it. Just go to the school that is the best fit for you and stop posting every two minutes with "OMG My 9 AP classes might not be good enough " Just suck it up, see how it goes, and do what is best for you.

g8ergrrrl, Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. I think our work here is done and common sense among this crowd is near extinction.

In every thread resides a troll.

Hey, if you want to rub my belly for good luck, hoping that it will influence your decision today, go for it.

[In every thread resides a troll/]

Do NOT feed the troll. It make them come back hungrier. It will try to eat YOU if you feed it.

Lol I hope you live a great life with that attitude gatorend. If anyone cares to look, virtually all of his posts have been negative. I was under the impression that the purpose of this forum was to share information and advice...you're going to have an interesting time in college

People aren't going to indulge your every whim in real life. People aren't going to hold your hand while you make decisions in real life. Remember how privileged you are just to get to go to college, just to get a high school education. Gatorend isn't being negative, he's being realistic and it seems like a lot of you need that. You all need to grow up. I hope you get denied from UF so you have to.

No, they won't - furthermore, I don't believe that it is reasonable to do so. But no one is asking their whims to be indulged. I really don't understand what you guys are trying to say: regardless of what you do say, all you're doing is exhausting yourself and making other people frustrated. It changes nothing. Two of my favorite quotes are

It is well to remember that the entire universe, with one trifling exception, is composed of others. - John Andrew Holmes

and

Listen. Do not have an opinion while you listen because frankly, your opinion doesn't hold much water outside of Your Universe. - Hugh Elliott

Seriously, guys. The point of this thread is to post your decisions, which we all may know in just over four hours. No one cares what any of you think about it. If you disagree, simply don't participate. It is a very simple concept: no one cares what you think. Please, guys, don't ruin your day or anyone elses because of your querulous natures.

Ruin this? You act like it is some big ceremony. It is an online community full of lies about the admissions process and bad advice for future applicants. I cannot really make this any worse than it is.

Doesn't that second quote apply to you to? Or does it only apply to people whose opinions don't jive with your universe?

I, for one, am not in this thread to hurt feelings, but to quell the influx of bad advice and remind everyone that things could be much worse. I am also trying to save you all a lot of time.

g8ergrrl and gatorend:

[quote]
Troll:2. An individual who chronically trolls in sense 1; regularly posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that the have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand - they simply want to utter flame bait. Like the ugly creatures they are named after, they exhibit no redeeming characteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form of life on the net, as in, "Oh, ignore him, he's just a troll."

Carry on....

I said ruin the day, not "this". I never said that it didn't apply to me. Furthermore, I never said that you are trying to offend; however, that is the consequence of your posts, regardless of intention. Plus slander, if you want to throw that in there. Continue as you like. All that I ask is that you realise that you are being, by definition, unreasonable.

Let's all come together to thank g8rgrrl and gatorend and My Opinion, and all these other great people for their contributions to the lives of each member of this forum.

Funny, some members on this board seem to lack the maturity to understand this is a place for sharing information on colleges. If you have such a difficult time understanding the mission of this website, it isn't for you. We are all around the college age, or have family members in that age group. I appreciate all the help this site has given me in my college search. Understanding why a decision on your application was made may help you, and or someone else. Imagine, not everything is about you.

Not as much action this year...interesting

its because people realized they want to keep their info private... smart people
