Technical error; they should not have been accepted.
It was to the Masters program.
Time to go back to skinny and fat envelopes if even CMU can make this mistake.

At least they did it very quickly - within 7 hours, but how heartbreaking that must be for some students.
I was thinking 7 hours is a lifetime with all the social media out there. How terrible to be wound up like that.
But I understand how it happens. Sending out 800 emails is nothing. Nobody would accidentally print, stuff, and mail out 800 fat envelopes.
I’m pretty sure if you got accepted, it wouldn’t be a glitch here…though I got my notice of admission 2 days ago and I’m very late in the alphabet

Me. But I did get an email from the housing guys saying that the NetIDs are delayed. That might be the reason for no letter yet.

Mail came today for son who is Comp. Engineering. A welcome packet and a postcard welcoming to the College of Engineering.
It’s so sad that international applicants don’t get the mail. 
Oh! or Does ‘Students with international addresses will not receive a hard copy of this letter in the mail.’ mean that international applicants do get mail, but there isn’t the notice of admission letter there?
I don’t know, I’m an international admit, but nothing in the mail yet, it’s been a week and a half, I think?
Give it time, I’m in Illinois 6 hours away and mine just showed up today. International is gonna take awhile.
