No it doesn’t, your second major only gets looked at if you are denied from your first, also you automatically get considered for General Studies (aka undeclared, can transfer to your major later) as your third major if you’re denied from both.
EDIT: Do not go for General Studies if you’re trying to get into CS, Bioengineering, or Mechanical Engineering, since it’s insanely hard to transfer to these majors.
EDIT 2: @renwa all the facebook groups for “Class of 'XX” are either inactive or full of spam. As much as reddit is garbage, I recommend r/uiuc since it’s mostly spam-free and decently active. However once you get your school email, join https://www.facebook.com/groups/groupsatuiuc/ since the groups there can be quality at times.
I applied for the Math and Computer Science joint major in LAS and want to know if it is as competitive as CS or other engineering majors. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this?
“Accepted Business Unassigned!
New SAT: 1420; 700 Math, 720 R/W, 24/24 Essay
Old SAT: 2020; 710 Math, 700 Writing, 610 Writing (lol)
GPA: ~4.27 (GPA system changed a lot at my school, but lowest grades received were a 3 A-'s throughout high school)
EC’s were decent, almost all have long term commitment and/or leadership
Essay was okay.”
