For posterity, it might be beneficial to separate the results based on In-State or Out of State status, giving future students a more organized data pool against which to compare themselves. And since we all now know that we will be receiving our results in little over 2 days, might as well get started now! Good luck everybody!

Here's the In-State thread; just complete the form below (remove the spaces after the first bracket in each part of code).

Do you think we should have a shortened version? What if people don't fill this out b/c it requires too much info? I want to know scores and yes/no.....bottom line.....but in an ideal world your list would be awesome.

Even with the form, people can fill out what they'd like, it just keeps it organized for future students who will be struggling with their own pressure in a couple years.

It gives me great pleasure to offer you admission to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Over the last several months, as we have come to know you by reading and rereading your application, we have been impressed by all that you have accomplished. Even among the many strong students applying for admission this year--we expect nearly 24,000 applications for 3,900 spaces--your academic and personal achievements have set you apart. We believe that you have an exciting future ahead of you, and we hope that Carolina will be the next step in your journey.

Because we have high hopes for you, I want to encourage you to continue preparing yourself for the challenges you will face here. The same curiosity and hard work that have brought you to this happy moment in your academic life will be crucial as you make the transition to college. Because we want you to come to Carolina ready to excel, your enrollment will depend upon your successful completion of your current academic year. We require that you continue to achieve at the level that enabled us to offer you admission; we also require that you graduate on time. Please arrange to have your final end-of-year transcript sent to us as soon as it becomes available.

As a first-year student, you will join other outstanding students in the College of Arts and Sciences, which will be your academic home for your first two years at Carolina. Enclosed within your admissions package you will find a detailed description of the opportunities that await you, as well as a checklist of the steps you must take in order to complete your enrollment. Please review this information carefully, and please note that you will need to submit your response to our offer of admission no later than May 1, 2009, to guarantee your place in the class.

Again, congratulations on your admission to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am delighted to be the first to welcome you to Carolina, and I wish you every success in the months ahead.

Sincerely,

Stephen Farmer
Associate Provost and Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Another month until the decision comes from her other application...then probably mid- to late March until we know if any $$ is offered. I wish we could fast-forward until then and get this anticipation-business behind us!!!
