[] Essays (subject and responses):
Common app: it actually would have worked for the "live the question" prompt, it was all about my love of film and how it's changed me, it sounds generic, but it was really good, my English teacher said it was the best that she'd read all year
Essay 2: I did the street essay, and I wrote backstories for all of the characters on Sesame Street
Why Chicago?: I talked about various reasons why I wanted to go there, but it mainly focused on the quirkiness of the school and how you couldn't really define the student body, and how I'd fit in because you can't define me
I didn't do the optional essay
[] Teacher Recs: I know that the one from my AP Euro teacher was amazing. I don't know about my AP Chemistry teacher, but I had her for two years and I think that she really liked me, so I'm guessing it was really good.
[] Counselor Rec: I'm guessing great, but the counselor/student relationship at my school is very impersonal

[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: CA & NC (moved after sophomore year)
[] School Type, Average Stats of School (if available):
CA school: large competitive public (4500+), one of top college prep programs in country, usually sends to UC Berkeley and UCLA, but always sends 2 or 3 to each Ivy and to Ivy-like schools
NC school: large public (2500+), not as good, people aren't as competitive, it's seen as a really good public school here, but I don't think it's that great, most go to state schools, but going to an Ivy is a big deal
[] Ethnicity: Hispanic
[li] Gender: F[/li][/ul]General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: I'm really excited although UChicago is not my first choice. I'm still waiting to here back from the Ivys and Georgetown, but UChicago is very high up on my list. I really think that my essays were what made me stand out. I'm a really great writer. I also think that race may have had a little bit of a factor as well. Congrats to all who got in, and good luck to all those who were waitlisted or rejected.
