im currently a fresh. got the credit email, no housing email. TransferAccepted… did the person you talk to say that if you go the housing letter that means your accepted?? or did she look you up?

i remember reading somewhere on the webpage that rejected applicants would no longer be able to log into their account… maybe that means were all still in the running?? ii dont know this is torture…

I doubt they would ask us to send in information if we were for sure rejected, so maybe they are still considering a few of us but have not yet reached a final decision.

Also, I’ve sent Andre an email before and his response was very prompt. I’m not going to pester him now though, and I hope none of you do either!

Congratulations again on your admittance to the Class of 2013 at the University of Chicago!

I write to ensure that you are aware of how to submit your application for housing in the College House System. First, you need to accept your offer of admission and pay the enrollment deposit in order to gain access to the on-line housing application. Then, complete the housing application, and click the “submit” button. The date that you submit your housing application establishes your priority for the room assignment process.

It is important for me to clarify that “saving” your housing application is not the same thing as “submitting” your housing application. Only submitting puts you into the queue. You may return and edit your submitted housing application as many times as you wish, up until the June 1st deadline, without losing your priority in the housing assignment queue.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at housesystem@uchicago.edu.

Best wishes,
Ana Campos

So, idk. I was going to disregard this email, but it seems that there maybe something to it.

I don’t think that everyone suddenly posting stats is going to help any.
but, in an attempt to assuage you, my stats are somewhat similar to yours, sarsura.
Good luck to you, make that good luck to all of us, since it is still uncertain what admissions decisions actually are.

I got the transfer credit email but not housing email, like some people here. So what does that mean? Does it mean we are potentially “waitlisted”??
Congrat to whoever accepted by Chicago. But I don’t feel optimistic about myself.
Is there anyone who did not receive any emails from Chicago at all?

i have a feeling that those of us who didnt get a housing email didnt get accepted… its pretty devastating. i dont believe chicago sends decisions out in waves like upenn, so i dont see why some students would recieve a letter like this and not others unless they were the admits. the housing letters obviously mean acceptance, so congrats to those of you who got in…really hope i get in to one of my other schools…

I am already preparing for the bad news. I spent my whole Valentine weekend writing Chicago’s “uncommon essay”, and now it seems I just wasted my precious time.
Nevertheless, if those of us who got the “transfer credit” email are potentially waitlisted, then I still have a slim hope. Indeed, it would be weird that Chicago suddenly requests detailed info about our classes if they are so determined to turn us down. Btw, other schools have not asked us to provide such a form. I wonder why?

yea…but it just seems odd that theyd request this info, and by april 30th at the latest…probably 600-700 applied as transfers this year…would they really send this email to everybody, and expect to review all these credit forms before early May passes by??

I also got the credit evaluation email, but not housing one… but I think it is a bit too early to give up the entire hope… if some of us, who got the first but not the second email, would be waitlisted (as some argue), how many will that be? 30? 50?
Chicago says on its website that it only recieves 50 outstanding students out of 500 applicants.

looks like (a) someone made a mistake at Chicago (b) someone is lying about being admitted (c) the University has lied in the past about notifying everyone at the same time and only over the website.
