what worries me is what TransferAccepted was told by admissions…

although…

“As we CONTINUE TO REVIEW transfer applications for next fall’s class we are also preparing for the Credit Evaluation process. Please follow the simple instructions below in an effort to insure all of your documents reach us in a timely way.”

…maybe theyre just not done yet

I expected a response on Friday after the “mistake” was made.

I really suspect the emails were a mistake. It’s hard to believe that they’d let people know with “congratulations again.” Still, I got both, so I really hope they weren’t

:( I got both and I think it was a mistake too.

No need to frown, it’s not like anything’s changed since Thursday. We have the same chance we always did, and should reserve our negative emoticons for bad news.

Hi guys

I think that this whole affair was caused by the early/regular admission aspect of the application. I think I mistakenly chose early. Maybe there are still more admits who chose regular waiting to receive their decision. Hope for the best guys. I hope you get in.

Sincerely,
TransferAccepted

TransferAccepted, I selected regular admissions. So that can’t be it.

TA, how did you select to apply early? Was it on CommonApp? I don’t remember ever seeing such an option.

This was the only option I saw on CommonApp:

Fall 2009
Regular Decision Due Date: 03/01/09

Just FYI, I did not apply “Early” but got the two e-mails. There is also no such thing as “Early” or “Regular” for transfer applicants.

well, I guess it couldn’t have been early/regular decisions then. You should call on monday, and try to see what’s wrong.

Yeah, they ended the divide, there was just one admission round…

yeah TransferAccepted, they stopped the early/regular decision for transfers this year…
which makes me wonder why they would tell you that they sent out early notifications when you called

Hey, Guys.

I got the email like you guys but not the housing one. I am just curious if every applicant gets the course evaluation email…or just some selected applicants

I really want to get into the University of Chicago…by the way, I got an admission from UNC

hope you guys can get in the U of C…

It seems all applicants received the course evaluation sheet.

I just realized that I received my housing email at 7:32pm (6:32 in Chicago). Aren’t all UChicago offices closed by 5pm? Then how could I have received and email at 6? Also TransferAccpeted, how were you able to call Uchicago at this very late time, on a friday much less?

Sorry if i seem a bit suspicious, but I don’t want to get my hopes up for no reason.

Please don’t take my suspicion as an insult, TransferAccepted. I am just trying to figure this out.

Honestly, I wouldn’t invest much effort in figuring the situation out. I don’t see that as being possible without confirmation from Chicago. Those who received the housing e-mail should probably call and confirm, others should complete the credit evaluation form as instructed. Monday will arrive shortly.

i’m a little confused about the credit form. so I should fax (hopefully I can get ahold of a fax machine on campus) that form, as well as photocopies of the course descriptions of every class?

I had to do that for gtown, but i just copy+pasted them all into a word document then sent that. I’ll probably call on monday to double check if thats ok i suppose
