Official University of Chicago Transfer Fall 2009

I guess I called immediately I received my “housing notification.” I called 773-702-8650–the number on the housing email.

if u guys need help in faxing ur docs to uchicago, go to faxzero.com. Ther u can fax 2 docs per day for free

Ohhhh! I see transferaccepted, you called housing! ok, I thought you called admission, never mind.

and you guys can usually go to a copying center (there are usually tons near college campuses) they should have a fax machine and it should cost a few cents.

Hey, Phode. How’s ur SAT score?

Hey, I plan to transfer to U Chicago in 2010, are there any courses that I should take before applying?

Hi wistle23, my scores are where they need to be :)

Be prepared to pay more. From my experience, a fax is ~$2.00 first page and $1.00 for each additional page. It is an absolute scam…, but I don’t have a fax machine, so…

Can’t you just go ask your advisor to fax it for you? I was going to ask my advisor or one of my professors to fax it for me. That’s what I did when I had to fax finaid forms.

Thinking back, you are completely right es four, I did have to pay somewhere in the ballpark of $2 the last time I had to send a fax. My apologies.

so what kind of activities will u guys participate in at u of c?

i hope to start a south asian fusion dance team  if any of you are interested, hit it up!

well, first I need to find out whether or not I am accepted. If I am actually accepted, then I will begin to think about all of my plans for this wonderful school. There is so much that I want to do and be apart of!!! I’m just hoping things fall in my favor. We shall see.

Dear (my name),

Recently you inadvertently received an email from the Housing Office here at Chicago congratulating you on your admission to the Class of 2013. On behalf of our Transfer Selection Committee I apologize for this confusing communication. I take great pride in the careful manner in which we review each transfer application and trust you will forgive our error. Our review and selection process is on going and over the next few weeks we will complete the work of choosing the next class of transfer students to Chicago. It remains our intention to notify you with an official admission decision in early May.

Again, I am sorry for the confusion. If you need further clarification about this or other matters, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. I look forward to being in touch with you again soon.

Sincerely,
Andre` E. Phillips
Director of Transfer Admissions

So I guess we are all still gonna be waiting.

Awesome. I just received that email too. Which makes me question why housing said they were sending “early notifications?”

I’m holding onto hope   :)

Maybe the adcoms haven’t finished the admission process, but sent housing letters to the ones they decided to admit. I’m just speculating. what do you guys think?

I was so confused about the letter. does any body here who did not get the first letter?

Hi whistle23, did you get both the housing email and the apology email? Or just one of the emails? I only ask because I am not quite sure what your question is in the above post.

Rhode, I got to be honest with you, I think you have good reason to hope  It sounds like maybe they have decided to admit you, but housing just got a little too eager in sending out notifications. I’m crossing my fingers for you!!

You have reason to keep hop, but none to give up.
