somebody call the whambulance!! we gotta whiner! hahaha jk i kid, i kid

but seriously i hope youre joking

^^i kinda feel that way too, im pretty optimistic about what my decision will be but im dying to know

what is most annoying is that we have no idea when they are going to start sending out decisions… when you call all they say is “you will have a decision by the 23rd” but i’m pretty sure that they are not going to wait until the last possible day to release all decisions.

all I can do is eat! haha. Instead of being productive, I’m either on here or eating. Without exaggeration I’ve gained 10 pounds since applying.

in all honesty… yes it sucks that michigan is being so vague about when we will find out. but seriously dude. eat. sleep. focus. (the not doing homework is ok : ) )
and as much as i would love to know RIGHT NOW…i’ve already waited what, a month and a half? im pretty sure i can last another week. get some patience peeps. (on a side note though, whoever decided to release decisions two days before christmas is an idiot).

Guys, whatever happens happens. Don’t think about it too much because it will inevitably raise your hopes, and if worse comes to worse, you don’t get in, your spirits will be crushed.

Amen to that.

I’m so hyped right now, I have no idea what I’ll do if I get rejected. Does anyone know what time they will release the decisions by on the 23rd? Also, has anyone been getting those annoying emails saying that you’ve “qualified for an early action response”? Every time I see one, I think it’s my decision.

i’ve only gotten one about a month ago

I think im looking for closure. Not necessarily, OMG IM GOTTA GET IN OR IM GOING TO KILL MYSELF

I just want closure.

Is that too much to ask for?

^Yeah, seriously. All my friends are getting into their ED schools and I just want to know if I’m going to college or not. The next school I would hear from might tell me in February…

I’m just stressed because now I have to go about applying to other schools that I don’t really even want to go to. I’m sending my ACT scores this weekend through rush delivery just so they get everywhere on time. This will be a complete waste of time and money if I do get into Michigan, but I just can’t take that small chance of being rejected and having to find another option.

hello, so i have been following this thread religiously for the past week. i am sooo anxious to hear back from umich! thank you to all the posters, you have all been very helpful.
i decided to call admissions office for myself today to see if i can get any new information, since everyone has been reporting various things. the woman who i spoke to mentioned that “the powers” have not decided when they will be releasing decisions, yet everyone will be hearing the news in one wave.
even though i do not have hard evidence to confirm, but i have a feeling that we will be finding out on friday

Souris, i do have a child there in her sophomore year. mu son is wating without a request for 7th semester grades. He is not listed in in my parent information area in the drop down area. i hope this isn’t a bad sign:( He is so anxious to go to UMICH

I Predicted the 17th for a while now and have been told to “keep dreaming”
I feel as though the 17th is highly appropriate.

1) The 23rd is too close to a widely celebrated holiday on the 25th

2)The 23rd would not leave a sufficient amount of time for concerned parents to call in and find out why their child was denied/deffered and what to do to get accepted

3)UMich runs the risk of someone who applied EA not getting their decisions due to malfunction in UMich software or server crashing, this is fine except is can lead a class action lawsuit if enough do not receive their decisions on said promised date

BY the 23rd does not mean ON … otherwise they would of simply said “on” from the get go ( if they have a heart )

The 17th would be an apt date for decisions, its not too close to X-mas and you have a weekend to take in your response

This is simply my opnion.*

I LOVE UMICH

So I know that I have made a thread stating that my counselor told my school that UMich has announced the decision release date to be Dec. 17.
I know some of you might not believe me. I know some of you that do.
For those who do: lets just hope that tomorrow flies by so that the suspense is reduced.

Of course, I’m still betting on Dec. 17th. Not only because my counselors told me, but also because of the reasons other people on this thread have said before. Now my counselor isn’t just any counselor. He used to work at UMich admissions before becoming a high school counselor. Therefore, he still has connections at UMich (unfortunately, it doesn’t mean that all students that he helps gets a free pass, but he knows the process).
Besides him, here are my reasons why I believe it is still Dec. 17th

1: UMich is essentially on break after this week. That is, all the students are gone and all the staff and faculty are preparing to get their work done. Why send it on a week of Christmas, the week that they are getting off. They probably would want to release it and get it done with.

2: Almost all the other schools have/will have sent there admissions decision by the end of this week. Yes, that means all the Ivies and tops school too. Dartmouth and UPenn-last Friday, Cornell-Last Thursday, Yale-Tomorrow, Brown-Monday, JHU-Today, Duke-Yesterday, Rice-Today, Stanford-last Friday, WUSTL-Last Friday

So if other schools are releasing it now, I don’t think they will wait that long.

Nevertheless, Good Luck everyone

^^^^

I agree.

1/2: 2 days is definitely not enough time to put out all of the fires.
3. Class action lawsuit? LOL. Don’t see that happening.

^ Agree with the last two posts. Completely.

@gunit5

I agree with you 100% however to make your argument stronger, Yale actually released decisions today

What time Friday does everyone think they will be released?

Im thinking 3pm ( Upenn) or 5pm ( Yale) , but maybe sooner? you guys’ thoughts?

@adam0302: maybe i was exaggerating but I would raise Hell if I recieved my decision after the 23rd =p

“2)The 23rd would not leave a sufficient amount of time for concerned parents to call in and find out why their child was denied/deffered and what to do to get accepted.”

I’ve been discussing that very thing with the counselor (she has a friend that reads applications for umich). We came to the conclusions from hints she’s received from her friend that umich set the date for the 23rd for the sole purpose to avoid all those phone calls. She said, “Yes, they’re that mean.” That would make sense though, that gives applicants and parents of applicants the time over the Christmas break to “cool off” after receiving a denied/deferral decision. It would say the admissions office a lot of hassle, even though I’ll still be calling if I receive a deferral or rejection. Just my two sense, could be completely wrong, but I thought it made sense.
