***Official University of Michigan Class of 2015 Decisions Thread***

just checked my D’s wolverine access…it doesn’t appear to be “down”…meaning she can still access it…but of course it doesn’t show any decision…i was thinking that when it was obviously DOWN we’d know emails were being sent…so happy to hear that at least one person got an email, albeit not the desired decision…i hope we all hear soon!

Thanks for the kind words MoltoBene.

I too woke up to an email confirming that I had been deffered till mid-april. 3 months of waiting just to be deffered. Oh well, i’m not gonna give up on it.

Could you please post stats please?

I’m thinking that emails are first going out to deferred applicants, then rejected, then accepted!

anothermom and lrose…stats?

Here is what I heard from our high school counselor today. It appears EA decisions starting coming out late last night and are continuing for the next couple days…We are Reg Decision, so that is what most of the email was about, but I thought this info might help you very anxious EA kids! Good luck!

I talked with our U of M rep this morning to help clarify your admissions questions. She called the U of M a “modified rolling admissions” school because of the huge increase of applicants this year. They received close to 20,000 early decision apps and just released the acceptance to those late last night with more to come in the next few days. She stated that the counselors haven’t even begun to look at regular decisions apps, but hope to soon after the first of the year. She was also unclear as to when regular decision applicants will hear but they have set for themselves mid April as an ending date. So it sounds like you will have to plan on waiting until April to hear a decision and if it happens earlier, it’s a bonus.
I hope this clarifies things more for you.

For those getting deferred: Here’s an old adage, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going.” I’ve had several friends whose kids were deferred and they used the time as an opportunity to let the school know how interested they were, and some of them were accepted in April:
–Send updated grades;
–Send an additional recommendation;
–Write a letter updating your extracurriculars, if you did anything interesting this fall;
–Update with any new awards from fall activities;
–Visit,if you can, and try to meet with an admissions officer.

I know that CC has several threads on this topic and I suggest you look at those. Good luck.

just found out I was deffered, which is what I was expected, definitely not disappointed though! Here’s some quick stats:

What is the timestamp on your emails? Were they sent out this morning, or are they just arriving?

Man, I’m NERVOUS.

Wow, deferrals coming right after another makes one think that deferrals are sent first.

acceptance listed on another thread!

Do we have any confirmed acceptances yet or just deferrals?

Did the decision email come to the same account UMIch sent regarding announcing result?

Timestamp was at 6:01 PT, got it at 8:01 AM… Live in California

Time stamp: 9:03am
