Anyone know what UMich’s email address is?

i got into upenn ed last week and withdrew my mich app… but by the looks of this thread i honestly feel like i could’ve been deferred. one of my good friends who’s more than qualified for michigan just got deferred and it makes no sense to me at all. who are they accepting if not these kids w 3.7+ gpas and 2200+ scores with what i’m sure are great ec’s?

I think people should actually thank petlee1. He has given people that are disappointed and angry someone to vent on instead of a faceless institution.

thanks petlee1!

I am pretty shocked with these results. There are definitely a few people with better stats than me and got deferred and I got accepted. Wow. Sorry you guys… I agree and think Michigan should have sent out the deferrals before the acceptances.

with this many deferrals, they have to accept a lot of people RD

Thanks petlee1 x2!

I’m so disappointed right now it’s not even funny.
I just got deferred.
Most rigorous courseload at independent boarding school, good grades, 34 ACT, 790 U.S. History, 770 Spanish, 4s and 5s on APs, amazing essays that I spent forever on, passionate and involved in community, etc.
And there’s no black mark on my app or anything; I just got accepted to the University of Notre Dame today. While I’m thrilled about getting in there, I didn’t like it that much when I visited. It’s not at the top of my list at all.
UMich was in my top 3. The only school I’m positive I love more than UMich is Duke (I was deferred there too). So this just sucks…and clearly I’m not the only one. Tons of kids today on CC with >2100 SAT and good GPAs are getting deferred…

massgirl92, i know how you feel, my application had no problems, im well rounded in general, mad good scores, mad good recs, ECs, etc, we still have a second chance haha

and petlee, ill drop my ballsack on your face, you clown

massgirl, join the club of being deferred from both Duke and UM lol.

Deferred :(

All of that waiting, a little cruel on the part of UM. Oh well, April approaches!

Hey guys. As an alum, I am embarrassed by the way Michigan has handled this. It’s appalling and not fair to any of you. My little sister just got deferred today, and I keep telling her that she’s better out without this school—and as much as I’ve been a true ra-ra alum, I mean that. I went to Michigan, and yes it was a great school, but I’m sure my life would be just as lovely without it. Remember it’s the person that makes a future, not the school, and that fun, smart people are easy to find across the country (and perhaps even the rest of the globe too). Everyone here has clearly worked hard and that will get you to exciting places. Good luck on finals and really enjoy winter break!

And PetLee, this thread clearly has no relevance to you. Please get off these boards and go explore your own campus. There’s no reason to make anyone feel worse during what you may remember is a mentally stressful process.

General Comments: Michigan was my #1, but I still have a few decent backups that I will probably get into (PSU, Pitt, VT) and a few that I have gotten into (Fordham, Drexel). I’d still really like to go, but I won’t be that heartbroken if I don’t get in.

Received my decision at 4:06 on Monday - 12/20

(I copied someone else’s template from PA)

Has anyone tried to track all the numbers, like how many people with a certain ACT or SAT were accepted or deferred? My D’s boyfriend got in with a 30 ACT and 3.9 GPA. Seems like a lot of people with higher numbers are getting deferred. Is it because of specific majors?

Deferred.

Eh. Upset, yes. But I’m really hoping to get into McGill (Read: Cheap tuition, multicultural city, world class instituition.) Aw yeah.

would it be reasonable to even consider the possibility that i would get accepted to uva, duke, dartmouth, vandy, or william & mary if umich has to second guess me?

agreed, im questioning all of my other schools now too.

Deferred
