OFFICIAL University of Michigan Decision - Class of 2013

I have the same problem!!

class2009 and toastmaster: I got the email on Oct 31st

Argh! haha, thanks though!

for SATs, does michigan look at your highest combined, or your best sitting?

Michigan looks at the highest in one sitting.

Yeah — but I would think that Michigan would take note of an 800 if you scored it in a sitting that’s not your highest composite wise.

as par others concerns, i am relatively certain they only admit people on friday afternoons…so they do not have to deal with phone calls/e-mails until monday

i have a 4.2 weighted gpa/ 3.7 unweighted. 2240 SAT (1520 M/R). 32 ACT. 800 SAT Bio. 760 SAT Math IIC. 5s on APs. great EC’s. sent my app in early Sept …it’s killing me that i have not heard yet

When will the next round of decisions come out?

Pretty sure this Friday.

They already sent out the decisions?

Yeah, a bunch were released on Halloween.

i submitted mine on oct.25, when will i hear?

i’m pretty sure it does not matter when you submitted as long as it was prior to nov 1.

i heard most of the people who got in so far where exceptional/almost perfect candidates or state residents.

i would think there would be another big acceptance this friday.

From what I know, UMich has so far admitted those who are “exceptional” and applied before 10/7. (I know some one who applied at that date and got in 10/31 — I go to a top Michigan public)

Mjsportsmj – It does matter that you send it in as early as you can. The earlier you send it into Michigan, the sooner you hear from them. That’s why it’s called “rolling admissions” — looking at your stats, your UW GPA is a bit low, but as long as you had a rigorous curriculum in school (APs, Honors), I would be surprised if you got rejected. I got it with a similar GPA. (screw Michigan’s recalculated GPA!)

I’m expecting that huge acceptance round this Friday too … because they missed out last Friday

My sister’s application was completed Oct 12 and she got in on Oct 31. In-state public high school.

yeah…the new system is not exactly rolling.
before it used to be you would submit your application and it would be looked at upon arrival and you could get your decision fast.
people used to be able to get accepted starting early october.
the new method states that acceptances do not start until nov 1 (even though they started oct 31) and if you get yours in by nov 1 you are ensured a response by dec 24.

dsmo…

Your sister applied on Oct 12 and she already got in!? Wow she must have been really good.

I had everything turned in, except my teacher’s recommendation got lost in the mail. Do you think if that gets sent in late, I will get a notification before most of the regular decision kids? Michigan certainly isn’t my top choice, however I was hoping that I would get notified prior to February 1st or whenever the RD date is.

most regular decision deadlines are jan 1
so if you did not get your stuff in for the early response before nov 1 it may be difficult to receive a decision prior to regular decision

No — if you didn’t have everything sent in by the EN deadline, you’re going to be put in the RD applicant pool, so you’ll probably recieve decisions much later, say Apr 1st
