Wrote my CA essay on being a person that is motivated by the journey rather than the arrival at a goal, have learned that this is a positive aspect of my personality and therefore plan to continue to cultivate it in my life, blah blah blah. I guess my “Why Penn?” essay was good too, although I hadn’t considered it to be particularly compelling prior to getting my acceptance letter haha.

Teacher Recommendation: I have no idea what they were like, but I asked for three. One from my AP Bio teacher from sophomore year (I know they say not to do that, but I really loved that class and was an active, gregarious participant); one from my AP US teacher from junior year (whom I also had as a freshman, for World History); and one from my AP Eng Lit teacher from this year (whom I also had as a sophomore).

Counselor Rec: I’m guessing it was pretty good, although I waived my right to see it.

General Comments:
Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted, that is absolutely fantastic and I look forward to maybe meeting you next year! To everyone who was deferred, keep your chin up. You’ve got tons of options now, and there’s still a chance that you’ll get in RD. Good luck! And to those who were denied, I’m sorry Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to the college admissions process; they have to deny qualified applicants merely because there isn’t enough space. I wish you well, I’m sure you’ll all do wonderful things in the coming four years. Best of luck!

I guess I’ll need a new username now… :)
