****OFFICIAL University of Pennsyvlania CLASS OF 2019 ED Applicants Discussion Thread****

Does this mean that they’ve already finalized decisions since they said that “it was great getting to know us”? So nervous!

@EvaW2013 That’s funny, but my email’s title doesn’t have a typo. maybe they were sent by region or something

he means the typo in the title of the thread

best of luck to you too! Super nervous!!

I never got that e-mail. Not in spam or inbox. Does this mean they don’t have my application? or I didn’t get in… :xx

Yeah I got it @Remi56783‌ , so nervous

best of luck to all of you!

Another thread just came up of people thinking that the email hints at admission status. Has anyone not got it? @reycle98 said that several (?) people did not get the email who he knows, but one person did.

Also, does anyone have multiple people from your school applying, and if so, did all of you get it, or just some of you?
That may help figure this out!

@smc101 there are three people from my school applying ED and we all got the email.

@lenayd‌ I know. That last line in the notification date email sounds ominous as heck.
Sounds like a rejection letter line haha

Stop making assumptions guys. If you’re meant to be accepted, it will happen. Stop freaking out and just wait for Dec. 15

Stay positive but don’t be overly optimistic…don’t add meaning to random words and be naive about it lol. It’s just an email. It’s not a likely letter.

I’m visiting the campus again on Friday (school college trip and my counselor wants me to go even though I already applied) and I’m really going to have to restrain myself from breaking into the admissions office and going through the acceptances. Any requests for me to look for your apps while I’m in there? Hahahaha

I applied ED to Wharton with a 3.6 UW and 31 ACT so I’m pretty much just hoping for the best but not gonna be upset if I don’t get in. I just know that if I don’t get in, it wasn’t meant to be for me to go to Penn and that I was meant to go to a different school. You can’t beat fate, right? Anyone else apply ED with a lower GPA like mine?

Yeah to be honest, the standards for ivy leagues have just gotten too high. There aren’t that many “perfect” kids here…not getting in will be disappointing, but we’ll trudge on anyways.

I have a 4.0 gpa and all my extracurriculars are great- I interned for a council member in nyc (and I have a letter of rec from him), I’m student council president, I did another internship for a film editing company, I’ve been on national comedy radio since I was four, etc. However, my biggest concern is my test scores. I scored a 29 on the ACT (pretty low for Penn), and I only got a 1300 on my Critical Reading + Math on the SAT. It really upsets me knowing that my scores might hinder my acceptance because I know how much hard work I’ve put into my studies and extracurriculars throughout high school and for a test to ruin my chances really sucks, considering it doesn’t measure my potential personally. I know my scores aren’t that low (some people in my school has 1100s OVERALL- can you imagine that?!) but it’s low for the one school I love and want to go to- Penn. I really hate the SATs/ACT to be honest like it’s such a bother and a total buzzkill…

@justinn76 @lenayd I totally know how you guys feel!!! For me, it is my SAT scores, they aren’t considered high enough for Penn… or even at my high school (people get mad if they get less than 2300 or a 35 on the ACT :frowning: !) I honestly often feel so depressed and worried about those scores

The email doesn’t mean anything… If people didn’t get it it’s because Penn sends them at half hour intervals in alphabetical order. My last name starts with a C so, I got it early.

Good luck everyone! Only two weeks more. I truly can’t believe it

Nobody in my school or area ever gets a 31 so everyone was amazed…yet I’m barely in Penn’s 25 percentile with that…
