My D received her acceptance two weeks ago. It said she qualified for Honors College and that add'l info would be in the mail. She sent an additional essay and resume after the acceptance (for merit purposes) via email and received an email response that this new info would be included in her fin aid review. I think I have heard elsewhere that they begin those reviews Nov 1st. As far as I know, no scholarship info is included in the earlier acceptances.

Weenie, did your S apply? And did he decide to apply at Case as well? My D has an interview with them next week.

That's what happened with my daughter, too. Didn't give a time frame just that Honors College info would be sent separately and her admissions file would be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and if eligible she would receive written notification. We were just at Pitt this past Saturday and was told that scholarship reviews would start Nov.1st. Good luck everyone!

Got the "Congratulations" envelope today. Whew. My kid is going to college....this makes 2 admissions so far, with 6 still to hear from. Pitt is probably 1st choice. The only things that could bump another school to the top will be getting into a guaranteed pharmacy program. I plan on getting my first good night's sleep since the college applications went in...

Hey gang. I too got my acceptance letter! But I am a little concerned because the letter didn't mention anything about being eligible for the Honors college or anything, and it was a small packet that didn't mention any future mailings either (and I'm definitely eligible for Honors courses)

Thoughts? I'd appreciate any y'all might have.

Billybobbyk,
I'm not sure what to tell you. The first paragraph of my D's acceptance letter stated: Congratulations! I'm please to inform you that you have been accepted for admission to the U of Pitt and that you are eligible to participate in the Universtiy Honors College.

It then stated later in the letter that details would be sent separately for the honors college. She then received the Honors stuff about a week later. It was funny though because her acceptance letter and the honors letter both were dated Oct 26th even though she got them a week apart. She then received a third letter about a week after that stating that she is a candidate for guaranteed grad school and to set up an interview. She got that letter on Nov 9th even though the letter was dated Nov 13th. Yes that's right, the 13th. Plus we still haven't heard anything about merit awards, so I'm not sure how they do things. You can always call them and ask or just wait and see if the letter shows up.

It looks like my post last week was unfounded: I just got an acceptaince to the Honors College as well, even though the first "Congratulations!" letter that I got didn't mention the Honors College in it or that I'd be receiving a second letter. I'm also in the running for some nifty scholarships as well.
