If you do not get an interview by the end of the week, consider your self rejected. I think this year they invited applications from more people than in the past. In the past, you needed to be top 1% in both class rank and test scores just to be invited to apply. To get an interview you probably need significant research experience, since the application has a whole section devoted to research. Congratulations and good luck those that made it so far.

To those that got full rides for UG, but did not get interviews you should consider going to Pitt just for undergrad and save a boat load of money.

Before March 1st, they are announcing - got this information through one of my friend who has appeared during presidential scholarship weekend (11th Feb)

my d has no research, but lots of community service and great ACT and GPA stats, ECs and leadership stats. has anyone in the past been invited to GAP interview without research. good luck to everyone!

im applying to UPitt’s medical GA program at the moment with a 2200 SAT, 34 ACT, 3.8 GPA, 720 Math II, 760 Bio, and ___ Chem (I didn’t get my results yet)… What do you think my chances would be to get accepted into the direct route program?

Some of my ECs: Student COuncil for 2 yrs, SHS for 2 yrs, many different clubs over the 4 yrs at hs to gain new ideas/experiences

Some of my volunteering: Nursing home- 4+ yrs, shadowing over the summer, volunteer employee at local store, etc

^No, but if you have the stats to get invited to GAP, you’re more than likely to get a full tuition scholarship (full rides are REALLY rare, like they only give out 10-15 or something).

If you apply to engineering, you may get another 4k engineering scholarship on top of tuition. The estimated room and board costs are low compared to most private schools and so the difference may be 5-6k if one gets tuition and engineering.
