Yep, me too! Only one Ivy (Brown), but I’m waiting on Northwestern and JHU as well.

I’m kind of scared, but I figure that once I learn to dress for it I should be fine. A friend of mine is a freshman at Brown this year, and when she came home for winter she was walking around in tank tops. I like the east coast a lot. I have family in MA, so I’ve been there close to winter (November and March). The amount of snow that they have upstate in NY is intimidating, though!

Edit: also waiting on Berkeley, but I’d rather go out of state.

I applied to seven Ivies. blush I really shouldn’t have, but whatever. Brown’s sort of my dream school, but I like to think I’m pragmatic and would be happy anywhere. Also applied to Northwestern but am expecting a rejection (I looked over my Why NU essay again today, and it sucked).

The East Coast is absolutely gorgeous, especially MA/New England. As far as NY goes, we have friends who lived in Buffalo and were SO happy to move back to the Bay Area… Apparently the winters were just brutal. I’m sure we’ll get used to it though - and my mom bought me a down jacket for Christmas, lol.

I’m still waiting on UCLA - but like you, I’d much rather go out of state.

Oh, wow! That’s got to add up to a lot of schools. I started out at 11 and got it down to 8. I don’t think I could have done any more applications; December was bad enough with the ones I chose.

Yeah, as far as the three I’m hoping for, I’m not really expecting anything. 82% of Hopkins applicants get rejected, and it’s got the highest acceptance rate of the three. I’ve kind of accepted that at some point it’s just luck. I REALLY like Northwestern, though.

Good luck! UCLA is Friday, right? I heard they got 90,000 applicants this year. 0.o And I hope you get good news next Thursday–I can’t imagine getting seven responses on the same day. I’ve got two that day and I’m still nervous.

I wish I had been more sensible! My list started at 10-11ish and just kept growing. Apparently I have no self-control… I applied to something like 18 in total. facepalm I’ve decided I’ll be happy if I get just one acceptance on Thursday - it’d cancel out all the rejections, lol. And yeah, LA is Friday. I’m not too attached to it but wouldn’t mind going there if that’s what it came down to, you know?

One of my good friends is a sophomore at Hopkins and LOVES it. She’s in their all-girls a cappella group and is having a wonderful time overall. I like Northwestern as well - the people I met when I visited were really nice. Here’s hoping you get good news too! At least you know your stats are great, and you’ve got UR under your belt :)

I just called and according o the admissions person decisions have not been sent to regular decision date candidates. Expect to hear by letter first and email to internationals. I know many of you have heard so I have no idea where she got this info, but there it is.
