**General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: ** Overall so far, waitlisted at UVA and WashU. Accepted UCSD, UCLA, Berkeley, USC (Spring Admit), UC Davis, Irvine, Northeastern EA, and U-Dub. One decision left: Notre Dame. Right now, I’m deciding between Cal and UCLA. Also, i am accepting a spot on the UVA waitlist and it is a possibility that I could go to UVA if accepted off waitlist. Good luck to the rest of Class of 2015ers!!! :)

Oh my now he’s going to have to choose between VTech and UVA. We’ll see.

My first post had a typo because I was using my iPhone, then my second post (which was intended to fix it) seemed to replace it so I edited it, and now both are screwed up. haha Sorry guys. Anyway, yeah, I was accepted as an Echols Scholar but I really don’t have time to post details right now.

Choose One:
Decision: Accepted (Echols Scholar)

Objective:[ul]
[] SAT I (breakdown): 2270; 690 CR, 800 M, 780 W
[] ACT:35
[] SAT II: 770 MII, 700 Physics

[] Teacher Recommendation: never read
[] Counselor Rec: never read

[] State (if domestic applicant): VA
[] Country (if international applicant):
[] School Type: private
[] Ethnicity: white
[] Gender: female
[] Income Bracket: high
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): none, although I do have legacy
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: test scores, GPA, legacy
[] Weaknesses: few ECs outside of sports?
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I’m in-state, have legacy, and my grades/scores are above UVA’s average. Not to sound pretentious, but I wasn’t too worried. I received a likely letter as well.
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: accepted at UNC-CH (honors), George Mason (full ride), William and Mary (Monroe Scholar); waitlisted at WashU; I’m waiting on Duke, Brown, and Yale
[/ul]General Comments: UVA has been the school at which I have always envisioned myself. I’m still going to look at the other offers before me, and the ones that hopefully may come. But the fact that I’m an Echols Scholar and that I get in-state tuition will likely be the factors that contribute to my attending UVA.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
General Comments: I love the admission process. Last week I got into Wash U, a day or so ago into USC, and earlier today I got into Vandy and NYU. I had no interest in Virginia but my parents made me apply. I never visited or communicatd with the school in any way whereas I was in contact with, and went to events and interviews for, Wash U and Vandy. I listed myself as denied on my school’s Naviance and it looks so funny; my SAT and grades have me off the scale for the average accepted person from my school yet Virginia denied me. The other schools saw something about me that Virginia didn’t. I didn’t wan them and they didn’t want me - fate perhaps. Good luck to those of you who wanted this.
