Official US December SAT I Thread

1) I put prevailing tendency
2) mime children, somethin about supplanting humans
5) raises-bring into consideriation
6)primary argument-secondary sources

i thought it was historical studies?

evil robot:
1) i put aggressive outlook.
5) i put bring to consideration
6) i didn't put any of those choices... i think i put demographics... male, female, black, white.

i don't remember the others.

mime children? wtf? i hope that's a typo, cuz not only did i not put that, it's weird as hell.

it didn't say anything about literacy..so i put literacy down....i also put something about secondary sources..it wasn't put together by history sources..secondary sources...it was all statistical.

mind children... and yes i put supplanting humans... replacing jobs.

ah yeah,.... i put literacy down...

let's all toast to completing this test. ;)

... and being g33k enough to talk about it... which is cool. :p

Hi amnesia,

I disagree aggresive outlook. seemed too extreme to me. However prevailing tendency seems better to me. I could be wrong though

i put literacy also

wow... i think i upped my verbal score a lot! :) too bad it was my 4th time though..

americans have a tendency to believe that they should work their best..which is why the whole..eagle (blah blah), you get it. it's not aggresive, it's just a tendency to lean towards that way of thinking...and it was secondary sources...due to all of the statistics.

Amnesia I toast with you man. i am so happy with this exam. I hope everyone did well on this exam.

i did not put prevailing tendency being a tendency is something that does not always happen. in the intro paragraph, it seems the author says that this is how our children move through society... so it is an agressive outlook at being all textbook and no playing in the meadows.

that is my reasoning toward the question.

I love how im talking about these tests and I don't have the SATs that you guys have. It seems everyone here is in 1400s-1500s and some have 1600s. I don't about you, but I wouldn't worry so much if I were you. And people are like "whats my chances" and they have good gpas, extra currics, and good SATs and people still are iffy. Seems like this site is filled with a bunch of ivy-bound students.

Anyway, i got supplanting too and I didnt get tendencies, I got the other one which was popular. I was thinking about both choices, but ultimately I chose the other.

I disagree amnesia,

A tendency in my book means leaning towards a particular point of view. i think the whole eagle analogy made the problem clear that it was prevailing tendency.

who knows what was the EXPERIMENT PART?????

i find interesting that they'd put a CR like that on the test...where the guy basically says American education is total crap, and we should stop being such "eagles" worried about our "ranking", and start being ourselves...

which is the exact opposite of everything the SAT and college board stand for.

edit - anyone ever read Thoreau? cuz that passage reminded me of it a lot.

well said jimmy

then maybe i was wrong... i think i missed 5 or 6 critical reading questions. im not too worried about it... i project that my verbal will be in the 650 - 700 (where i want it)

there was a math and verbal experimentation part. i believe the T-rex 5 liner was the verbal experimental

Yup it was a prevailing tendency! I got that one...and for the one of the answers i put Vaunted....i think of SC or anal....
