If the letters were mailed out today, there is no way someone got theirs today.
@Itsdomoo: As far as I can tell USC Financial Aid and Admission decision are totally independent. The status change on financial aid just means that USC is starting to process the FAFSA and CSS profile.
Did you submit your FAFSA and/or CSS profile? If so, that would explain the financial aid status changes.
Their number is 12137406616 and their office is open for another 30 minutes. Someone should just call and ask…I mean thats what the admissions office is there for

In past years, there have been instances of one or a few students receiving their scholarship packet on the Friday they were released. In one case, an admissions officer drove to the house (not far from USC, I believe) and dropped it off!!! So, I’m not sure what we can make of the one report of an admissions packet being received. If it is legit, I hope that poster will come back and give details–like his/her major, postmark date, and how the mail got there that fast. haha. Even if one packet has been delivered, we might not hear from too many others since the number of scholarship invitations is very small, the number going to SoCal students super small, and not everyone follows and posts to cc (what? really?). So hang in there. I expect tomorrow will bring more definitive news.

That person has got me a bit skeptical… guess we will just have to wait and see. Hopefully tomorrow is the day but we will only know with time.
Does SCA give out the scholarships based on talent or academics more?
I know that admission to the program is more on talent, and I read in another thread that each school within USC has a certain amount of spots available for giving out a scholarship but I was curious as to if they look for both talent and academics for the merit scholarships?

I didn’t think I would be getting anything today until valedictorian friend at another school posted on fb that he got his.
I’m not coming back to CC…so please just be patient…I’m sure you will all get yours soon. (And keep your incredulous attitudes to yourself, tyvm…)
@Itsdomoo USC looks at both academics and talent for merit based scholarships. You can find all kinds of info about what they look for on Facebook, Twitter or their website.

Congrats @miraculouslee - not sure you will see this but nice of you to come back on…you can certainly understand the suspicions since we heard from no one else, and it is easy to imagine someone playing that prank to rev everyone up! Glad for you that it is real, my guess is you will have lots of great choices, this is probably one of many. Good luck going forward! Fight On!
I really hope they are coming out in the next few days. I’ve been waiting on pins and needles all week! So nervous. USC is my dream school. (I live all the way out in Tennessee… this wait is going to be killer, but hopefully it will end with good news! Fingers crossed!)
