Anyone know how scholarship decisions work for special programs (ex. performing arts, World Bachelor in Business, Iovine and Young, music, so on?)
@flyindutchman if you didn’t have a page indicating any sort of interview (Trustee, Presidential, etc.), then you got dean’s
@awesomekid well I know that places like performing arts had to apply by December 1st anyway, but I believe you get the same consideration. Performing arts just didn’t have the option of applying later.
@mellyjune But if those programs have special review only in February… how can they be admitted now?
@awesomekid The scholarship admits are so low, I think that there will only be few admits for the performing arts… To be honest, I haven’t heard of anyone in the performing arts get into USC this early… Although I wouldn’t base anything off of that. I doubt that the performing arts people would be excluded from the scholarship consideration though.
So it’s seeming like most of the Presidential & trustee Scholarships are sent and people on the East coast are receiving them even with a blizzard. Congrats @arjunn11 ! Where in WA do you live? Because if you’re getting it and I’m not then I probably didn’t get it…
nah i didn’t get Deans @mellyjune , i was just wondering cause i haven’t gotten anything yet and wondering whether to keep hope alive. so far no mention of deans so hope alive!!!

Hello friends! I just got my acceptance packet on Saturday (Viterbi), and I’m getting pretty confused about the merit scholarships. There was nothing about merit scholarships in my acceptance packet, and I’m assuming that those being considered for merit scholarships receive that notification in the same acceptance packet.
So, I’d think that I’m not a finalist but then on some other forums they say that “those being considered for merit scholarships receive their acceptance in late January,” which I did. So what do I think? I’m sorry if this question is super redundant, I’m kind of new to this! Thanks in advance, and congratulations to everyone that got in, and good luck to those still waiting for their letters! Maybe I’ll meet you guys in the fall

I live in NC and i got a packet! Consideration for trustee and other scholarships too!!! some quick stats below if anyone is interested:
GPA: weighted (5.18) un (3.89)
ACT: 33
EC: really good lots of presidents and stuff
Work: yes, 3 years at a t-shirt company. promoted from working on machines to marketing, sales, and data analysis
@strawberiz You most likely will receive a Dean’s scholarship (1/4 tuition), from what I gather from the comment so far.
@legacymom no they’re both white and wealthy. both don’t have solid extracurriculars besides a job.
@emhelm13 not necessarily i called them earlier and they said they will still send out more tomorrow and later in the week
