@CADREAMIN @AskUWAdmissions Yes, I second that-thank you for taking the time to respond to all the questions (some repetitive). We truly appreciate it.
@AskUWAdmissions as a parent of an applicant, thank you very much for doing all this! it’s a thing that nowhere else is helping applicants, really appreciate your help!
@AskUWAdmissions If the major on my transcript says “business administration” does that mean I got direct admit? Also, thank you for answering questions, that is very thoughtful of you!!
Hang in @AskUWAdmissions!
I love the questions that have been answered just two posts before. Kids, read back at least a page or two. As Mulder says, the answers are out there
@uwapplicant21 I’m not as familiar with the unofficial transcript and what displays, but all offer letters indicate the assigned major. Additionally, the majors that offer freshman direct will be emailing students (those who got in and those who did not get freshman direct) in the next couple of weeks with additional information on what that decision means.
I know all acceptances come in different waves throughout the March 15-31st period, but I am extremely worried because everyone from my high school was able to confirm their admission and view their unofficial transcript as well. I am an in state student with pretty good stats… I thought I had a pretty decent chance of being admitted, but now I am very doubtful.
Accepted for pre-science! Yay! good luck to all those still waiting for their decisions!!
@AskUWAdmissions , are you stating that Direct Admit decisions have already been made?
The departmental pages (i.e. HCDE, Informatics, etc.) make it sound as if they do not begin considering candidates until after campus-wide decisions are released. For example, Informatics https://ischool.uw.edu/future/informatics/freshman-direct-admission states:
April 15: Admitted students will receive an email indicating their admission to the program. (Students who are not admitted will not receive an email.)
(Which… really? That’s kinda rude IMHO. Would it kill them to send an email to the non-DA applicants, thanking them for their interest and explaining the process of applying to the major? Seems like a premier Information Technology program ought to be able out how to automate that with very little effort, lol.)
But at any rate… your post #924 makes it sound as if majors are actually assigned (or not) as of this time. Is that correct, or are the departments still evaluating DA candidates?
Thanks for your help!
I got computer science direct admit, pretty happy about that. I know two other people from my school who got it too.
In state, 3.99 GPA, full IB (14 IB classes), 35 ACT.
luna4151, try logging in with your netid and getting to the page that says no decisions have been made yet, then log in separately to https://sdb.admin.uw.edu/enroll/uwnetid/. See if you can “confirm enrollment.”
Does anyone know when we hear if we got into the honors college or not? Or was that already released?
@gigapigger Did you find out you were accepted DA on the unofficial transcript? Or did your decision officially update on Myuw? Or did you find out you got in DA through another route? I have a 36 ACT, and a 4 AP Computer Science AB so I thought I had a great chance. No official update yet, but my unofficial transcript just says “pre-science”
Was able to confirm enrollment and go through but it said I wasn’t offered any admissions placements?
eketerm, for me my portal said decisions were still pending, but when i clicked on the link to confirm enrollment, it clicked through and called me by name and said I’d been offered enrollment at the UW Seattle campus.
@aquapt Sorry for the confusion. Let me clarify. There are a handful of academic programs that make freshman direct decisions after general university decisions are made. I believe Informatics may be one of them as my notes indicate they are assigned “Pre-Major” at the time of admission to UW. Engineering, Computer Science, Business, those are all included in the offer letter (to the university). I hope that helps!
@eth2355 Honors will be notifying students a week or so after general UW offers go out.
For me after I click through it addresses me by name and says confirm your enrollment but in a box below it says no admission offers yet ?
@AskUWAdmissions When will the first wave of acceptances be sent out both in the mail and online?
@WouldYouAcceptMe Major says Computer Science on my unofficial transcript. So I assume this means DA.
Would someone be willing to send a screenshot of a rejection email? I know someone did before but I wasn’t able to see it.
