Anybody actually recieve a letter yet???????????????

i havent recieved any notices!!!! :(

how long does it take to find out?

some wont know until like march or later

i've heard it can be anywhere from 2 weeks after you sent in your application to yeah... way later. i got a letter today telling me to set up a uwnetid though!

how many of you guys are applying for honors? do you know how long it takes them to respond to those apps?

i thought about applying to honors but dont think it's right for me.

i doubt i'd get in anyway with a 3.85 uw GPA, 1380 SAT, and mediocre EC's

i dont think you are notified that you got accepted into honors for a LONG time unless your stats are really good....like maybe april? I dunno.

do you know if you can apply to honors college like sophmore year? i know you can do it after two quarters at the UW. i wanna make sure i can transition to college life before i take a more challengeing courseload.

I haven't gotten accepted/declined yet but my status on my uwnetid says "decision pending". Soooo I dunno how long it will be now. Any ideas???

when did you send in your application? i dont know what my uwnet is....

I sent in my application on Oct. 25. By the way...my stats go something like this
4.0 GPA weighted, 1800 SAT, 5 AP 4 Honors, Lots of extras with student government and lots of community service

i'm sure you'll get accepted, dunno when tho

.
.
.

anyone know how hard honors is to get in?

would 3.8 UW GPA (prolly like 5 aps, 4 honors or something), 1380/1600 SAT (math + CR), and average EC's have any chance to get in? i didnt think so, so i didnt apply...dunno if i should of just tried for the heck of it tho....you can still turn it in by jan 15 or something....

Honors is very hard to get into. That said, go ahead and go for it! For sure you won't get in if you don't apply, and it doesn't cost any extra to do so.

what are the stats for honors? and does it matter if you are oos?

You'd be lucky if you know of their decision in like March or April. For Fall 2005 admissions, I got admitted to the university (not to the department I'm in now) around late in May / early in June (can't really remember the exact time). Their admissions process is so freaking slow. I'm not sure what's taking them so long though.

asbereth, did you make the priority deadline? That seems ridiculous if you had your app in sometime in November and didn't hear from them for over 6 months. A lot of schools require you to declare your intent to enroll around that time or earlier, so that would almost eliminate the UW from some people's lists...

Hey live-, so I understand you got accepted already? Congrats! Anyway, after you sent your application, how long after did you get your letter of confirmation thing (that letter to set up a UW id or something) And how when did you send in your application? Thanks.

Well, that was indeed what happend to me last school year. I made the deadline (the January 15th one), and the only thing they ever told me within those 6 months was that my application had been received and completed. I didn't get the decision until the Spring quarter had almost ended (from the University. Remember that I will still have to apply to the AA department, which is, in itself, a separate process). My international friend was even worse. He got notified AFTER the Spring quarter ended, at which time he decided to enroll to Purdue already. I surely hope that will not happen again this year...

Most applicants are notified by early April. If you don't hear by then, I think you are in their "maybe" pool. You'll be offered a spot if one opens up due to a student who was offered admission decides to go elsewhere.

I know someone who didn't hear until mid-summer. Talk about nail-biting! He was planning to go to community college instead, so he wasn't invested (emotionally or financially) at another 4 year institution. Once in at UW, he went on to thrive in the engineering department.

keebah, I haven't been accepted to UW yet...in the other thread I said it only took 2 weeks to get into Colorado so I was hoping to hear quickly from Washington too...

I wish though :)

My S applied Jan. 15 of last year, accepted about a month later in February.

If you have really high stats (like the top 5-10% of the applications received by Dec 1st), you usually hear very quickly. Especially if you didn't apply to honors.
