@korimeck girl and physics here!
when you get deferred from Tulane…
@korimeck girl and I want to go into Mechanical Engineering, Communication of Science and Technology, or Ergonomics (:
@esotericentropy Last year someone on this board reported getting deferred by Tulane but getting in at Vandy… you just never know.
@formychapter2 I know UPenn ED applicants received an email last night confirming the date so we should be expecting ours soon I suppose
Yay!! STEM is wonderful. Two more days! Good luck everyone!
@formychapter2 last year they notified applicants on Thursday via the admissions blog
2 days guys! the wait is almost over!
The suspense is killing me…
How many people on here are IB diploma candidates
This week I’ve just been routinely checking this discussion, MyAppVU, and the Vandy Admissions Blog looking for updates… like nonstop
@Work2Live thanks! My counselor said she talked to them and it was just due to a lack of showing interest so I feel better now. TWO MORE DAYS
@NJDad68 no, applied regular and haven’t heard back yet. They both said the regular admissions would be in like March
@Rittlemethis87 Me!
Exactly 1 day 23 hours and 14 minutes left. Breathe deep and good luck to everyone!
Slightly, but yes.
@Rittlemethis87 ME!!! (:
@biblegirl666, Best of luck to you! BTW, you might want to take a gander on the Tulane forum and even on the Cornell and Brown forums – people with wonderful stats are getting rejected from Tulane because they didn’t show the Admissions Office sufficient interest, and because last year’s class was way too big and they must have a smaller one this year or there won’t be enough space. I wouldn’t worry about any of the rejected, however. They are all going to go to great places, but it just goes to show that these “chance me” threads based on stats are pretty worthless and that nothing can be taken for granted anymore… I am sure you will wind up somewhere where you can be whatever you want to be in life. All the best!
Like most schools, it does make a difference when you apply ED. That is really important. However, you need to meet the standards. There are no gimme’s. I went to Vanderbilt back when it was easy to get in to. Our daughter applied ED and was accepted. Our son applied ED and was accepted to engineering. He did have an 800 on his SAT math and was a good student. We were also full-payers and didn’t apply for any financial aid. t must tell you that I’m the only one of my college friends whose kids have been accepted. I think having alum parents does give you a second look, but they’re not giving anything away for sure.
What time did they post on the admissions blog last year? I know they did it on the 11th and decisions were released on the 12th so we should be expecting something today but does anyone know what time??
